Analysis of Recent Global Geopotential Models Over the Croatian Territory

2010
Independent quality control of the national geoid model HRG2000 was performed using 65 control points, obtained through the realization of EUVN and EUVN_DA projects and the Croatian fundamental gravity network. Ellipsoidal heights and positions of the control points are precisely determined by GNSS measurements while the geodetic heights are obtained ...

Consistent approximate models of the global atmosphere in non‐spherical geopotential coordinates

Quarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, 2011
AbstractTaking the spherical geopotential approximation as a starting point, previous work has revealed a quartet of dynamically consistent models of the global atmosphere according to whether approximations of shallow and quasi‐hydrostatic type are or are not made.

Global Geopotential Models and Gravity Data for the Territory of Romania

1995
In view of a gravimetric geoid computation for the territory of Romania, several global geopotential models (GGM) have been taken into account. This paper presents the ability of the OSU91A geopotential coefficient model to recover the gravity field on the Romanian territory, considering that no terrestrial gravity data from this region have been ...

Modelling of the Global Geopotential Energy & Stress Field

2012
Lateral density and topography variations yield in and important contribution to the lithospheric stress field. The leading quantity is the Geopotential Energy, the integrated lithostatic pressure in a rock column. The horizontal gradient of this quantity is related to horizontal stresses through the Equations of equilibrium of stresses.

Verifying the Accuracy of Recent Global Geopotential Models in North-West Mozambique

2015
Several high resolution global geopotential models have been published in recent years. Two of them are EGM2008 and EIGEN-6C2, which have accuracies on the order of 3–20 cm in Europe and Australia. However, part of this accuracy is related to the high number of gravity observations available in these areas.

Verification of heights above global mean sea level from high-degree global geopotential models by using leveling data

Journal of Applied Geodesy, 2011
The dedicated satellite gravity missions CHAllenging Minisatellite Payload (CHAMP), Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE), and Gravity field and steady-state Ocean Circulation Explorer (GOCE) and their recent and expected Global Geopotential Models (GGMs) present new opportunities for the determination of gravity-related heights.

Comparison of global geopotential models with Terrestrial gravity data in Libya

2013
This study compares a series of global geopotential models (GGMs) using available terrestrial data from the territory of Libya. The anomalies of free air were determined in points of gravimetric survey of Libya by using the model of European Improved Gravity 6C2 (EIGEN-6C2), the model of the Earth Gravitational Model 2008 (EGM2008), as well as model of
