Simulation of the effects of global irradiance, ambient temperature and partial shading on the output of the photovoltaic module using MATLAB/Simulink and ICAP/4 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
This thesis is investigates the effects of operating conditions on the output of a photovoltaic module and describes methods used for maximising the power output of the module.

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

A fast and accurate global maximum power point tracking controller for photovoltaic systems under complex partial shadings [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
The operating conditions of partially shaded photovoltaic (PV) generators created a need to develop highly efficient global maximum power point tracking (GMPPT) methods to increase the PV system performance.

A Lipschitz Optimization-Based MPPT Algorithm for Photovoltaic System Under Partial Shading Condition

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
The power–voltage curve of a photovoltaic (PV) array shows multiple power peaks under partially shading conditions (PSCs). Hence, conventional maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithms can not guarantee the maximum power output of the PV ...

Influence of a Hybrid MPPT Technique, SA-P&O, on PV System Performance under Partial Shading Conditions

open access: yesEnergies, 2023
The electricity sector has been undergoing profound transformations. In particular, the Portuguese self-consumer regime has allowed customers of the medium and low voltage electricity grid to be producers/consumers of electricity, actively contributing ...

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

DNA methylation and expression of MAPRE3 affect overall survival of early‐stage non‐small cell lung cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Both cg12821679MAPRE3 methylation and MAPRE3 expression are significantly associated with overall survival (OS) of non‐small cell lung cancer. Meanwhile, MAPRE3 expression significantly modified the effect of smoking cessation on OS. Smoking cessation benefits OS merely for patients with high MAPRE3 expression.
