Spatial and Volumetric Characteristics of Glioblastoma: Associations With Clinical Presentation and Survival

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective We aim to comprehensively analyze how regional tumor and edema characteristics are associated with clinical presentations and survival outcomes in a large cohort of glioblastoma patients. Methods Patients with IDH‐wildtype glioblastoma who received brain MRI from 2010 to 2023 were included.

On the relationship of cosmic ray flux and precipitation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
This paper evaluates whether there is empirical evidence to support the hypothesis that solar variability is linked to the Earth's climate through the modulation of atmospheric precipitation processes.

Associations of Rheumatoid Arthritis Disease Activity With Frailty Over Five Years of Follow‐up

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective To evaluate whether rheumatoid arthritis (RA) disease activity is associated with frailty both in cross‐section and longitudinally. Methods Participants within the Veterans Affairs Rheumatoid Arthritis (VARA) registry enrolled from 2003 to 2022 were included.

Safety of Prescription Nonsteroidal Anti‐inflammatory Drugs in Adults With Inflammatory Bowel Disease: Data From a Large Administrative Claims Cohort

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective The concern that nonsteroidal anti‐inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) may precipitate flares of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) has limited their use in managing musculoskeletal symptoms in those with IBD, but safety data are mixed. Methods This retrospective cohort study included patients with IBD aged at least 18 years from Optum's deidentified ...

Improving the Regional Applicability of Satellite Precipitation Products by Ensemble Algorithm

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2018
Satellite-based precipitation products (e.g., Integrated Multi-Satellite Retrievals for Global Precipitation Measurement (IMERG) and its predecessor, Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM)) are a critical source of precipitation estimation ...

Caregiver Perspectives on the Burden of Disease and Treatment in Uncontrolled Gout

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Uncontrolled gout (UG) refers to persistently elevated serum urate (SU) levels >6 mg/dL and ongoing gout symptoms despite use of urate‐lowering therapy (ULT). The objective of this study was to evaluate the burden associated with informal caregiving for individuals with UG.

Assimilation of precipitation Estimates from the Integrated Multisatellite Retrievals for GPM (IMERG, early Run) in the Canadian Precipitation Analysis (CaPA)

open access: yesJournal of Hydrology: Regional Studies, 2017
Study region: The study area covers the whole Canada at 10-km grid. Analysis was further done at the regional scale by dividing the study area into four climatic zones: Atlantic, Central, Prairie, and West Coast.

Solid‐State Diffusion and Intermetallic Phase Formation in Roll‐Bonded Mg–Zn Composites With Kirigami‐Patterned Inlay

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Mg–Zn composites with a thickness of 0.21 mm were fabricated using roll bonding of a kirigami‐patterned Mg alloy inlay within a Zn matrix. Thermal activation following this process led to the formation of tailored intermetallic structures, which provided the composite with enhanced flexural strength.
