Global study of variability in olfactory sensitivity.

Behavioral Neuroscience, 2020
Variability in human olfactory sensitivity has been attributed to individual-level factors such as genetics, age, sex, medical history of infections and trauma, neurogenerative diseases, and emotional disorders. Scarce evidence exists on the cross-cultural variation in olfactory sensitivity.

Global cash flow sensitivities

Finance Research Letters, 2017
Abstract We examine the role of a country's institutional framework for investment and financing activities. A country's financial structure, investor rights, and legal environment are important determinants of the relation between cash flow and firms’ investment and financing behavior.

Sectional global sensitivity measures

Reliability Engineering & System Safety, 2015
Abstract In this paper the approach of sectional sensitivity measures is introduced. Opposite to well-known global sensitivity measures not only a singleton value is provided to appraise the functional input–output interrelation but rather a more detailed description of these interrelation is enabled. Therefore, the domain of definition (input space)

Global Sensitivity Analysis

Operations Research, 1995
In applications of operations research models, decision makers must assess the sensitivity of outputs to imprecise values for some of the model's parameters. Existing analytic approaches for classic optimization models rely heavily on duality properties for assessing the impact of local parameter variations, parametric programming for examining ...

Culture-sensitive global strategies

Proceedings of the 2009 international workshop on Intercultural collaboration, 2009
This paper explores the role of culture in multinational firms' strategies and reviews academic contributions to analyzing cultural imperatives of global growth strategies with a focus on cultural friction in cross-border economic collaboration. It suggests that successful multinational companies are willing and able to turn cultural asymmetries into ...

Global Sensitivity Analysis for Mixture Experiments

Technometrics, 2012
A mixture experiment is characterized by having two or more inputs that are specified as a percentage contribution to a total amount of material. In such situations, the input variables are correlated because they must sum to one. Consequently, additional care must be taken when fitting statistical models or visualizing the effect of one or more inputs

A hybrid approach for global sensitivity analysis

Reliability Engineering & System Safety, 2017
Abstract Distribution based sensitivity analysis (DSA) computes sensitivity of the input random variables with respect to the change in distribution of output response. Although DSA is widely appreciated as the best tool for sensitivity analysis, the computational issue associated with this method prohibits its use for complex structures involving ...

A schedular-sensitive global register allocator

Proceedings of the 1993 ACM/IEEE conference on Supercomputing - Supercomputing '93, 1993
Compile-time reordering of machine-level instructions has been very successful at achieving large increases in performance of programs on machines offering fine-grained parallelism. However, because of the interdependences between instruction scheduling and register allocation, it is not clear which of these two phases of the compiler should run first ...

Global sensitivity analysis in inventory management

International Journal of Production Economics, 2007
Abstract This paper deals with the sensitivity analysis (SA) of inventory management models when uncertainty in the input parameters is given full consideration. We make use of Sobol’ function and variance decomposition method for determining the most influential parameters on the model output. We first illustrate the method by means of an analytical
