Global Smoothness Preservation and Simultaneous Approximation by Multivariate General Singular Integrals

SpringerBriefs in Mathematics, 2011
In this chapter, we continue with the study of multivariate smooth general singular integral operators over R N , N ≥ 1, regarding their simultaneous global smoothness preservation property with respect to the L p norm, 1 ≤ p ≤ ∞, by involving multivariate higher order moduli of smoothness. Also, we present their multivariate simultaneous approximation

A Global Laplacian Smoothing Approach with Feature Preservation

Ninth International Conference on Computer Aided Design and Computer Graphics (CAD-CG'05), 2006
This paper presents a novel approach for surface smoothing with feature preservation on arbitrary meshes. Laplacian operator is performed in a global way over the mesh. The surface smoothing is formulated as a quadratic optimization problem, which is easily solved a sparse linear system.

On Global Smoothness Preservation by Bernstein Operators

Journal of Computational Analysis and Applications, 2001
Bernstein operators (and many of their generalizations) preserve the global smoothness measured by the first-order modulus of smoothness. What about the second-order modulus? The paper is devoted to this question. The author improves some results of Ding-Xuan Zhou (1995) and J. Adell-A. Perez-Palomares (1997), and gives a partial answer to a conjecture
