Estimating environmental costs of greenhouse gas emissions in saffron production systems (case study: Torbat Hadiriyah) [PDF]

open access: yesZirā̒at va Fanāvarī-i Za̒farān, 2019
The production of saffron as one of the most expensive agricultural and pharmaceutical products in the world has a high comparative advantage. Considering the importance of producing this product in Iran as an important non-oil export commodity and its ...

Global warming impact of fluorinated gases in ophthalmic surgeries at a tertiary eye center in India

open access: yesIndian Journal of Ophthalmology, 2023
Purpose: Global warming is one of the greatest health threats of the 21st century. The ophthalmic sector contributes to the emission of greenhouse gases, thus altering the natural environment. There is currently no data on global emissions of fluorinated

Evaluating Global Warming Potentials with historical temperature [PDF]

open access: yesClimatic Change, 2009
Global Warming Potentials (GWPs) are evaluated with historical temperature by applying them to convert historical CH4 and N2O emissions to equivalent CO2 emissions. Our GWP analysis is based on an inverse estimation using the Aggregated Carbon Cycle, Atmospheric Chemistry, and Climate Model (ACC2).

Economic global warming potentials

open access: yesInternational Journal of Energy Research, 1994
A reformulation of global warming potentials is propounded, that combines the time-horizon and discounting definitions, and covers both ordinary atmospheric forcing (via greenhouse gases) and its rate-of-change. Insofar as GWPs are used to guide investment and socioeconomic choices, there is merit in adopting cost-benefit techniques.

Global warming potential of pavements

open access: yesEnvironmental Research Letters, 2009
Pavements comprise an essential and vast infrastructure system supporting our transportation network, yet their impact on the environment is largely unquantified. Previous life-cycle assessments have only included a limited number of the applicable life-cycle components in their analysis.

A New Approach to LCA Evaluation of Lamb Meat Production in Two Different Breeding Systems in Northern Italy

open access: yesFrontiers in Veterinary Science, 2020
Lamb meat production provides vital landscape-management and ecosystem services; however, ruminant farming produces a considerable share of the world's greenhouse gas emissions.
