Biological characterisation of Globodera pallida from Idaho

Nematology, 2012
The white potato cyst nematode, Globodera pallida, was recently found in the USA and was identified using molecular and morphometric assessment. This paper examined some biological characteristics of the Idaho population of G. pallida. The samples of the original cysts showed that they had low rates of juvenile hatch and, consequently, low rates of ...

Ranbpm homologue genes characterised in the cyst nematodes Globodera pallida and Globodera ‘mexicana’

Physiological and Molecular Plant Pathology, 2005
Abstract A homologue of a Ran binding protein to microtubules ( ranbpm ) gene, initially known as IC5, was identified and characterised in second-stage juveniles (J2s) of the potato cyst nematode Globodera pallida. The full-length cDNA (937 bp) was obtained by 5′ and 3′ rapid amplification of cDNA ends (RACE) and specific primers were designed to ...

Economic Impact of Globodera Pallida on the Idaho Economy

American Journal of Potato Research, 2020
Globodera pallida, Pale cyst nematode (PCN), has become a major problem for the U.S. potato industry as a whole and the Idaho potato industry in particular. PCN is estimated to have reduced the amount of lands in potato production by just over 1233 ha in 2016 in Idaho.

Occurrence of Globodera pallida in Hungary

EPPO Bulletin, 2003
Golden potato cyst nematode, Globodera rostochiensis, has been known to occur in Hungarian potato fields for more than 20 years. The Hungarian NPPO has been carrying out a country‐wide Globodera monitoring programme since 1995 and has inspected 16 000 samples. Until 2000, all records were of G. rostochiensis.
