Globulin-p and 11S-Globulin from Amaranthus Hypochondriacus: are Two Isoforms of the 11S-Globulin

open access: yesThe Protein Journal, 2009
Amaranth is an ancient crop with a high content of good quality proteins. Globulins are some of the most abundant storage proteins of amaranth grain. They contain two fractions distinguishable according to their different solubility: the salt-soluble 7S and 11S-globulins and the globulin-p soluble in mild-alkaline, low-ionic-strength solutions. As part

Inherited metabolic epilepsies–established diseases, new approaches

open access: yesEpilepsia Open, EarlyView.
Abstract Inherited metabolic epilepsies (IMEs) represent the inherited metabolic disorders (IMDs) in which epilepsy is a prevailing component, often determining other neurodevelopmental outcomes associated with the disorder. The different metabolic pathways affected by individual IMEs are the basis of their rarity and heterogeneity.

Post-hatch L-Threonine Supplementation to Low Protein Diets Influences the Growth Performance and Immune Response of CARIBRO Vishal broiler Chickens

open access: yesScientific Papers Animal Science and Biotechnologies, 2023
Two experiments were conducted to evaluate growth performance, immune responses and carcass traits of CARIBRO Vishal broilers fed dietary L-Thr in low protein diets without or with the balance of Lys and Met.

Assessing Clinical Severity and Prognosis in Adolescents With Anorexia Nervosa and Atypical Anorexia Nervosa Using the Albumin‐Globulin Ratio

open access: yesEuropean Eating Disorders Review, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective The albumin‐globulin ratio (AGR) is a biochemical marker reflecting nutritional and inflammatory status, with significant prognostic value in chronic conditions. This study examined its association with clinical/biochemical markers in adolescents with anorexia nervosa (AN) and atypical AN (AAN).

Differences in Serum Albumin and Globulin Levels on the Severity of Radiodermatitis in Breast Cancer Patients at a Tertiary Hospital in Yogyakarta

open access: yesBerkala Ilmu Kesehatan Kulit dan Kelamin (Periodical of Dermatology and Venerology)
Background: Repeated and accumulated radiation exposure causes radiodermatitis in breast cancer patients. Lack of protein in the body can cause problems with wound healing induced by radiation exposure.

“Effects of High‐Intensity Ultrasound on the Structural, Technofunctional, and Allergenic Properties of Groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.) Protein Isolates: A Review”

open access: yesFood Chemistry International, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The growing global demand for sustainable, nutritionally balanced protein sources has intensified interest in plant‐derived proteins, particularly those derived from oilseeds such as groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.). However, although groundnut protein isolates (GPIs) have high nutritional quality, they exhibit limitations in technofunctional ...

Functional and physicochemical properties of proteins isolated from four different pulses

open access: yesFood Biomacromolecules, EarlyView.
Proteins from four pulses viz. pinto bean, cow pea, pigeon pea, and navy bean were isolated and characterized. Pinto bean protein showed the highest oil absorption capacity and solubility. Pinto bean protein exhibited the highest emulsion capacity and foaming capacity. Cow pea protein showed the highest in vitro protein digestibility.

Buck Wheat: Nutritional, Bioactive Characteristics, Health Benefits, and Side Effects

open access: yesFuture Postharvest and Food, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Micronutrient deficits have resulted from an over‐reliance on a small number of cereal crops for food security. The agricultural sector faces severe sustainability issues due to the rapid growth of the world's population and sudden climatic changes.
