Effect of Glomus Mosseae Inoculation on Growth and Reproduction of Rice
2012Effect of inoculating rice (Oryza sativa L.) with mycorrhizal fungi (Glomus mosseae) was studied using potted seedlings. Vegetative growth and reproductive traits were compared between inoculated and non-inoculated plants. Result showed that there was a high mycorrhizal dependency of the rice on G. mosseae.

Production of pectolytic enzymes in lettuce root colonized by Glomus mosseae
Soil Biology and Biochemistry, 1991Abstract The type of extraction solution used influences pectolytic enzyme recovery from Lactuca salira root colonized with Glomus mosseae . The most suitable extraction buffers are 250 mM NaCl for pectin esterase and SO mM citrate-phosphate plus polyvinyl-polypyrrolidone for polygalacturonase, endo-polygalacturonase, polymethylgalaturonase, endo ...

Presence of specific polypeptides in onion roots colonized by Glomus mosseae
Mycorrhiza, 1993We studied changes in gene expression during the establishment of vesicular-arbuscular (VA) mycorrhizal symbiosis. Polypeptides were obtained by in vitro translation of total root RNA extracted from VA-colonized and noncolonized root-tissue of onion (Allium cepa L. cv. Babosa), and resolved by two-dimensional polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis.

Interaction of Glomus mosseae and Paecilomyces lilacinus on Meloidogyne javanica of tomato
Mycorrhiza, 1995The effects of Glomus mosseae and Paecilomyces lilacinus on Meloidogyne javanica of tomato were tested in a greenhouse experiment. Chicken layer manure was used as a carrier substrate for the inoculum of P. lilacinus. The following parameters were used: gall index, average number of galls per root system, plant height, shoot and root weights ...

An investigation was carried out on the mycorrhizal colonisation, growth and nutrition of two members of the Ericaceae in close proximity to an arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) association. This was undertaken by separating mycorrhizal (EM) and non-mycorrhizal (NEM) Erica cinerea and Vaccinium macrocarpon from AM (inoculated by Glomus mosseae) and non ...

The influence of cadmium (Cd) on the root colonization of Astragalus by two arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) was investigated. Astragalus sinicus L. grown in the soil in the presence of four levels of Cd was inoculated individually with Glomus mosseae, Glomus intraradices, or by a mixed inoculum of these two fungi.

We studied the production of xyloglucanase enzymes of pea and lettuce roots in the presence of saprobe and arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi. The AM fungus Glomus mosseae and the saprobe fungi Fusarium graminearum, Fusarium oxysporum-126, Trichoderma harzianum, Penicillium chrysogenum, Pleurotus ostreatus and Aspergillus niger were used. Effects of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungus (Glomus mosseae) on the accumulation and speciation of selenium (Se) in alfalfa, maize, and soybean were investigated by using Se(IV)-spiked soil. Mycorrhizal inoculation decreased Se accumulation in roots and shoots of all the plants at Se spiked level of 0 or 2 mg kg(-1), while an increased Se accumulation was

Population variation in the mycorrhizal fungus Glomus mosseae: breadth of environmental tolerance
Mycological Research, 1991Responses to a range of environmental conditions were examined and compared in three populations of Glomus mosseae from dissimilar habitats to assess phenotypic plasticity. The G. mosseae populations were observed (1) in three soils with different physical-chemical characteristics, (2) at three different levels of soil moisture and (3) under three ...
