Histone H3K18 Lactylation Promotes the Malignant Progression of Wilms Tumor via a PSRC1/AKT/HIF‐1α Positive Feedback Loop

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In nephroblastoma, aberrant glycolysis drives lactate accumulation, which elevates histone H3K18 lactylation via p300. Lactylation of the PSRC1 promoter activates its transcription. PSRC1 competitively binds AKT, relieving PTEN‐mediated inhibition and triggering AKT/mTOR/HIF‐1α signaling.

Probing Electrocatalyst Design for Product Selectivity in CO2 Reduction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Selective CO2 electroreduction is controlled by catalyst structure, dynamic surface reconstruction, adsorbate interactions, and reaction microenvironment. This review summarizes Cu‐ and non‐Cu‐based catalysts, single‐atom and molecular systems, degradation pathways, and operando/computational strategies for steering CO2RR toward hydrocarbons ...

Chromatin Packing Domain Engineering Through the Manipulation of Nuclear Cationic States

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Manipulation of intranuclear divalent cation concentrations rapidly and reversibly remodels chromatin packing domains in living cells. Magnesium depletion disrupts domain compaction, heterochromatin organization, and transcriptional regulation, whereas magnesium loading promotes more compact and stable domains.

Essential lipid autacoids rewire mitochondrial energy efficiency in metabolic dysfunction‐associated fatty liver disease

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
Increased liver content of DHA‐derived small lipid autacoids (i.e resolvin D1 and maresin 1) associates with enhanced mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation, fatty acid β‐oxidation and bioenergetic metabolic flux. These features provide hepatic protection from steatotic, pro‐inflammatory and fibrogenic insults.

Adaptation of Echinococcus Multilocularis to Oxidative Stress Depends on EmPDK‐Mediated Metabolic Reprogramming

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Metabolic adaption presents a vital survival strategy for E. multilocularis. This study identifies EmPDK as a central metabolic regulator governing glucose metabolic reprogramming. Oxidative stress activates EmHIF1α to induce EmPDK expression. Mechanistic characterization reveals this ROS/EmHIF1α/EmPDK axis drives glycolytic reprogramming to sustain ...

The NADPH oxidase NOX4 regulates redox and metabolic homeostasis preventing HCC progression

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
Loss of NOX4 in HCC tumor cells induces metabolic reprogramming in a Nrf2/MYC‐dependent manner to promote HCC progression. Abstract Background and Aims The NADPH oxidase NOX4 plays a tumor‐suppressor function in HCC. Silencing NOX4 confers higher proliferative and migratory capacity to HCC cells and increases their in vivo tumorigenic potential in ...

Acute hemolytic crisis complicated with ischemic cardiac injury and methemoglobinaemia following ingestion of naphthalene: a case report

open access: yesJournal of Medical Case Reports
Background Naphthalene is an aromatic hydrocarbon that potentially produces methemoglobinaemia but rarely causes hemolysis, especially in children with underlying glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency.

Ischemic Priapism Associated with Glucose-6-phosphate Dehydrogenase Deficiency: A Case Report

open access: yesOman Medical Journal
Ischemic priapism is a male urologic emergency. Most cases have been linked to genetic conditions such as sickle cell disease and (much more rarely) glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency, and the use of certain drugs. Here, we report the case of a
