Central carbon metabolism of the biocontrol yeast Pichia anomala [PDF]
The biocontrol yeast Pichia anomala prevents mould damage of moist cereal grain during malfunctioning airtight storage but it can also spoil food and feed. This thesis focuses on the physiology and metabolism of P.

After spinal cord injury, adult microglia remain persistently activated with chronic PRMT6 (protein arginine methyltransferase 6) upregulation. Prmt6 deficiency or inhibition reestablishes microglial homeostasis and promotes a scar‐limited repairment, enhancing axonal regrowth.

Specific activities of NADPH-producing dehydrogenases of E. coli during growth on acetate.
Activities of the four NADPH-producing dehydrogenases were measured in crude cell extracts for each strain. Cultures were harvested at the exponential phase. Standard deviation is shown for triplicate measurements of each enzyme.

A temporally controlled drug release coating is developed for abutments using a superhydrophobic coating self‐assembled on mesoporous silica. This surface provides sequential functionality: initial contamination resistance through non‐wetting, followed by controlled drug release via wettability transition.

The study elucidates that paternal preconception stress can drive offspring hyperresponsivity of the stress system via hypomethylation of a specific DNA region in sperm. This key link is confirmed in a cohort of prospective fathers: the epigenetic alteration is associated with elevated stress hormone levels.

Chrysomycin A Reshapes Metabolism and Increases Oxidative Stress to Hinder Glioblastoma Progression
Glioblastoma represents the predominant and a highly aggressive primary neoplasm of the central nervous system that has an abnormal metabolism. Our previous study showed that chrysomycin A (Chr-A) curbed glioblastoma progression in vitro and in vivo ...

Engineering Oncolytic Virus‐Armed Macrophages for Enhanced Cancer Immunotherapy
ZIFOA‐M is engineered by conjugating oncolytic adenovirus‐loaded ZIF‐8 nanoparticles onto macrophage surfaces via bioorthogonal chemistry. Upon tumor infiltration, the platform releases OA to downregulate CD47/CD24 on tumor cells, restoring macrophage phagocytosis.
