A Microenvironment‐Adaptive Scaffold Rejuvenates Peripheral Nerve Regeneration During Aging Via Dual Modulation of Ferroptotic Stimuli in Schwann Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
(i) Aging impairs peripheral nerve regeneration via its dual ferroptosis‐mediated pathologies in senescent schwann cells. (ii) The composite nerve conduit is a symbiosis niche integrating microenvironment‐responsive nanoparticles (Ga‐PTAs) and maxillofacial‐derived mesenchymal stem cells (Mmscs).

How to measure blood glucose

open access: yes, 2014
The level of glucose in the blood can be measured by applying a drop of blood to a chemically treated, disposable ‘test-strip’, which is then inserted into an electronic blood glucose meter.

From Sensing Mechanisms to System Co‐Design: Graphene‐Based Sensors and Readout Circuits

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This review establishes a unified PS–EQ–RF framework linking graphene sensing mechanisms, native electrical outputs, and output‐specific readout circuits. Voltage‐, current‐, resistance‐, and capacitance‐type sensing systems are systematically classified to guide architecture selection, low‐noise design, system co‐design, and practical integration ...

Electronics‐Free Visual Monitoring of Dry Eye Disease‐Related Tear Biomarkers Using Smart Scleral Lenses

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An electronics‐free smart scleral lens passively monitors dry eye disease‐related tear biomarkers through colorimetric sensing of chloride, pH, and ocular surface temperature. Smartphone‐assisted image analysis enables quantitative interpretation, providing a simple, non‐invasive strategy for ocular health monitoring without integrated electronics ...

Robots and Minimal, Physics‐Informed Features: A Hybrid Framework for Enzyme Catalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Robotic experimentation and physics‐informed machine learning combine to predict enzyme substrate scope. With a handful of interpretable features derived from docking and quantum mechanics calculations, our model rivals descriptor‐heavy AI approaches and extrapolates to unseen substrates and enzyme classes.

Increased Disarray of Extracellular Matrix Collagen‐I Fiber Network and Compromised Biomechanics in Aortae From Marfan‐Syndrome Mice Assessed Through Combined Opto‐Biomechatronics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Combined structure‐function assessment in aortic rings from Marfan mice using MechaMorph Opto‐Biomechatronics technology relates increased elasticity (stiffness) and dynamic viscosity and less ordered extracellular matrix 3D‐structure (collagen) as potential causes for impaired Windkessel function and compromised haemodynamics in Marfan's syndrome ...

The comparison of two glucose measurement systems: POCT devices versus central laboratory

open access: yes, 2018
Background:Glucose meters are used for two purposes: point-of-care testing and the self-monitoring of glucose, both of which are very important in the management of diabetes, hypoglycemia, or hyperglycemia and in therapeutic decisions. Objective:The aim ...

Pharmacoeconomic analysis of blood glucose meter Contour TS in diabetes treatment

open access: yesФармакоэкономика, 2015
approximately 5-7% of people in Russia have diabetes. In addition, the number is growing every year. Diabetes treatment schemes mostly focused on normalizing the blood glucose level. To achieve it patients use the glucose meters.
