On differential operators for scalar-scaffolded gluons

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
Recently, based on the curve-integral formulation for stringy Trϕ 3 amplitudes, a combinatorial formulation for Yang-Mills amplitudes has been proposed which describes gluons using pairs of scalars and produces the n-gluon amplitude from simple ...

Cross sections for gluon + gluon → heavy quarkonium + gluon [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 1987
Abstract Using the helicity amplitude formalism, we derive simple cross section formulae for the production of heavy quarkonia through the process g+g → ( 2S+1 L J )+ g when L = S or P. Within the framework of perturbative QCD, these subprocesses are important for the hadroproduction of heavy quarkonia.

Splitting the gluon? [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 2005
In the strongly correlated environment of high-temperature cuprate superconductors, the spin and charge degrees of freedom of an electron seem to separate from each other. A similar phenomenon may be present in the strong coupling phase of Yang-Mills theories, where a separation between the color charge and the spin of a gluon could play a role in a ...

Diffraction and the gluon mass [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 1993
We recently proposed a QCD-Pomeron described by the exchange of two non-perturbative gluons characterized by a dynamically generated gluon mass. It is here shown that data on elastic scattering, exclusive $ρ$ production in deep inelastic scattering and the $J/Ψ$-nucleon total cross-section can be successfully described in terms of a single gluon mass ...

The Discovery of the Gluon [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Modern Physics A, 2014
Soon after the postulation of quarks, it was suggested that they interact via gluons, but direct experimental evidence was lacking for over a decade. In 1976, Mary Gaillard, Graham Ross and the author suggested searching for the gluon via 3-jet events due to gluon bremsstrahlung in e+ e- collisions.

Gluon condensates and effective gluon mass

open access: yesSciPost Physics, 2022
Lattice simulations along with studies in continuum QCD indicate that non-perturbative quantum fluctuations lead to an infrared regularisation of the gluon propagator in covariant gauges in the form of an effective mass-like behaviour. In the present work we propose an analytic understanding of this phenomenon in terms of gluon condensation through a ...

The gluon propagator [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics Reports, 1999
We discuss the current state of what is known non-perturbatively about the gluon propagator in QCD, with emphasis on the information coming from lattice simulations. We review the specification of the lattice Landau gauge and the procedure for calculating the gluon propagator on the lattice.

Neutralino annihilation into gluons [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 1994
We present a complete calculation of the cross section for neutralino annihilation into the two-gluon final state. This channel can be quite important for the phenomenology of neutralino annihilation due to the well-known helicity suppression of neutralino annihilation into light quarks and leptons.
