Study on Damage Mechanism of Waterflooding Development in Weizhou 11‐4N Low‐Permeability Oilfield

open access: yesGeofluids, Volume 2023, Issue 1, 2023., 2023
Weizhou 11‐4N oilfield is a medium‐low‐porosity and low‐permeability reservoir. The oilfield was initially developed by edge and bottom water energy and then transferred to water injection development. Affected by poor physical properties and heterogeneity of the reservoir, the oilfield appeared in the process of water injection development.

Study on Compatibility between Complex Mode Micropore Structure and Polymer Solution of Different Formulation for Conglomerate Reservoir

open access: yesGeofluids, Volume 2023, Issue 1, 2023., 2023
In this paper, the conglomerate reservoir is selected as the object to investigate the micropore structure and the compatibility of polymer solutions. Firstly, the characteristics of complex mode pore structure are analyzed based on casting thin sections, scanning electron microscope, and capillary pressure curve.

The secondary pore development model of coarse-grained deposition: A case study of the Xiazijie Formation in the Northwestern Margin of the Junggar Basin

open access: yesEnergy Exploration & Exploitation, 2023
The coarse-grained glutenite rock mass of the proximal fan delta is characterized by the blocky texture, mixing of gravels with varied sizes, high mud content, and low porosity and permeability, leading to difficulties in assessment and exploration of ...

Extended GOSIM: MPS‐Driven Simulation of 3D Geological Structure Using 2D Cross‐Sections

open access: yesEarth and Space Science, Volume 9, Issue 6, June 2022., 2022
Abstract In the past two decades, algorithms for multiple‐point statistics (MPS) have been applied in many fields. However, 3D training datum or data (TD) is difficult to be obtained. Two‐dimensional geological cross‐sections from boreholes or geophysical data with high reliability are usually used to explain geological phenomena and are relatively ...

[Retracted] Integrated Design Technology of Geological Engineering for Pressure Flooding and Water Injection in Low Permeability Reservoirs: Take the Reservoir of Keshang Formation in Wu2 East Area as an Example

open access: yesJournal of Chemistry, Volume 2022, Issue 1, 2022., 2022
The objective factors of low permeability reservoir determine that there is obvious starting pressure gradient in waterflooding development, and the injection pressure is high. Conventional waterflooding has the technical bottleneck of “no injection and no flooding.” It highlights the development contradictions such as serious under‐injection, rapid ...

Application of Facies Controlled Prestack Inversion Technology in Prediction of Deep Tight Gas in Continental Faulted Basin

open access: yesGeofluids, Volume 2022, Issue 1, 2022., 2022
It is difficult to predict tight sandstone gas in continental rift basin because of complex deep structure, fast transformation of sedimentary facies, large lateral variation of reservoir thickness, and tight and strong heterogeneity. Based on the petrophysical analysis of logging data, this paper improved the traditional low‐frequency establishment ...

Prediction and Analysis of PDC Bit Wear in Conglomerate Layer with Machine Learning and Finite‐Element Method

open access: yesGeofluids, Volume 2022, Issue 1, 2022., 2022
Polycrystalline diamond compact (PDC) bits experience a serious wear problem in drilling tight gravel layers. To achieve efficient drilling and prolong the bit service life, a simplified model of a PDC bit with double cutting teeth was established by using finite‐element numerical simulation technology, and the rock‐breaking process of PDC bit cutting ...

Spatial Characteristics and Genesis of Tight Clastic Reservoirs in Yingcheng Formation of Changling Fault Depression in the Southern Songliao Basin

open access: yesGeofluids, Volume 2022, Issue 1, 2022., 2022
Tight oil and gas has become a hot spot for unconventional oil and gas exploration. How to find high‐quality reservoirs under the conditions of low porosity and permeability has become a key issue restricting tight oil and gas exploration. This paper takes the deep‐seated tight clastic rocks in the Changling fault depression in the Songliao Basin as ...

Numerical Investigation of Hydraulic Fracture Propagation Morphology in the Conglomerate Reservoir

open access: yesGeofluids, Volume 2022, Issue 1, 2022., 2022
The random distribution of gravels makes the conglomerate reservoir highly heterogeneous. A stress concentration occurs at the gravel‐matrix interfaces owing to the embedded gravel and affects the local mechanical response significantly, making it difficult to control and predict hydraulic fracture (HF) propagation.
