Comparison of glycemic excursion in patients with new onset type 2 diabetes mellitus before and after treatment with repaglinide [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Due to industrialization and sedentary life, incidence of type 2 diabetes (DM2) is increasing seriously. Repaglinide is a glucose reducing agent that predominantly reduces post-prandial glucose.

ISPAD Clinical Practice Consensus Guidelines 2018: Glycemic control targets and glucose monitoring for children, adolescents, and young adults with diabetes

open access: yesPediatric Diabetes, 2018
HbA1c reflects mean BG over the prior three to four months and is currently the only long-term glycemic control measure with robust outcome data. Multiple studies in diverse populations have shown that elevated HbA1c values are associated with chronic ...

An elevated gap between admission and A1C-derived average glucose levels is associated with adverse outcomes in diabetic patients with pyogenic liver abscess. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
OBJECTIVES: To assess whether chronic glycemic control and stress-induced hyperglycemia, determined by the gap between admission glucose levels and A1C-derived average glucose (ADAG) levels adversely affects outcomes in diabetic patients with pyogenic ...

A preliminary study on whether HbA1c levels can predict visual dependence for spatial orientation in asymptomatic Type 2 diabetic patients [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Introduction: Diabetes-induced vestibular dysfunction has been commonly reported, and asymptomatic patients with type 2 diabetes display higher degrees of perceptual visual dependence for spatial orientation than healthy controls.

Risk Factors of Intraoperative Dysglycemia in Elderly Surgical Patients [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
BACKGROUNDː Dysglycemia is associated with adverse outcome including increased morbidity and mortality in surgical patients. Acute insulin resistance due to the surgical stress response is seen as a major cause of so-called stress hyperglycemia. However,

Low-carbohydrate diets for gestational diabetes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Nutrition therapy provides the foundation for treatment of gestational diabetes (GDM), and has historically been based on restricting carbohydrate (CHO) intake. In this paper, randomized controlled trials (RCTs) are reviewed to assess the effects of both

Imeglimin attenuates liver fibrosis by inhibiting vesicular ATP release from hepatic stellate cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Imeglimin, at clinically relevant concentrations, inhibits vesicular ATP accumulation and release from hepatic stellate cells, thereby attenuating purinergic signaling and reducing fibrogenic activation. This mechanism reveals a newly identified antifibrotic action of imeglimin beyond glycemic control.

Soyfoods, glycemic control and diabetes

open access: yesNutrition Clinique et Métabolisme, 2020
Soy is characterised by a higher content of specific proteins and isoflavones. The question is to know if incorporation of soy foods in the diet may have a favourable effect, or not, on the risk of diabetes, on glycaemic index and insulinemic response, and which are the components involved in these effects.
