Photoautotrophic Organic Acid Production: Glycolic Acid Production by Microalgal Cultivation

open access: yesChemical Engineering Journal, 2022
Although microalgae produce value-added products, such as lipids, pigments, and polysaccharides using light and carbon dioxide, these intracellular products require costly downstream processes such as extraction and purification.

The Glycolic Acid Trichloroacetic Acid Peel

The Journal of Dermatologic Surgery and Oncology, 1994
background. Chemical peeling has become increasingly popular. Technique is more critical in medium depth peeling than with deeper peels because of variable penetration of the trichloroacetic acid, objective. This article describes a novel use of two caustic agents, glycolic acid and trichloroacetic acid, to effect a predictable approach to medium depth ...

Degradation of Poly(Lactic-Co-Glycolic Acid) Microspheres: Effect of Copolymer Composition

open access: yesBiomaterials, 1995
The in vitro degradation behaviour of a wide range of poly(D,L-lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) has been examined in terms of degree of degradation and morphological change during an incubation period of up to 53 d.

Hydroxylation of acetic acid to glycolic acid in rabbits

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - General Subjects, 1968
In a study of the metabolism of (4′-propionyl)-acetanilide it was observed that rabbits hydroxylate part of this compound to (4′-propionyl)-glycolanilide. This metabolite was found to be hdyrolyzed by microsomes as well as soluble fraction prepared from rabbit livers.
