Terbuthylazine herbicide: an alternative to atrazine for weed control in glyphosate-tolerant maize

Journal of Environmental Science and Health, Part B, 2022
It is proposed that the herbicide terbuthylazine is more effective than atrazine in controlling weeds in maize. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of terbuthylazine and atrazine in a mixture with glyphosate in glyphosate-tolerant maize for post-emergence application.

Ammonium haloacetates – An alternative to glyphosate?

Chemosphere, 2018
This study shows the design, synthesis and evaluation of eco(phyto)toxic and herbicidal activities of quaternary ammonium salts (QASs), derived from haloacetic acids, in context of the search for safer alternatives to the commonly used herbicide, N-(phosphonomethyl)glycine (glyphosate).

AMINO ACID APPLICATION CAN BE AN ALTERNATIVE TO PREVENT GLYPHOSATE INJURY IN GLYPHOSATE-RESISTANT SOYBEANS

Journal of Plant Nutrition, 2012
Glyphosate-resistant (GR) soybeans have continuously increased; however, this expansion significantly increased the use of glyphosate and therefore, in some cases, has resulted in injury symptoms observed in GR soybean, known as “yellow flashing”. Previous reports of interference of glyphosate with nutrient availability and utilization by GR soybean ...

Response of Asiatic Dayflower (Commelina communis) to Glyphosate and Alternatives in Soybean

Weed Science, 2009
Asiatic dayflower has recently become a troublesome weed in eastern Iowa. This weed demonstrates an extended emergence period and there is anecdotal evidence of glyphosate tolerance. Thus, Asiatic dayflower is difficult to manage in glyphosate-resistant (GR) corn and soybean.

Absorption and translocation of glyphosate in Spermacoce verticillata and alternative herbicide control

Weed Research, 2018
SummaryGlyphosate has been associated with control failures for Spermacoce verticillata in some Brazilian States. The objective of this work was to evaluate and determine the possible causes of this and propose alternative herbicides to use. Glyphosate was applied at three plant stages of development (2–4 leaves, 4–6 leaves and full bloom) where foliar
