Microstructure behavior in GMAW 2205 duplex steels welding for offshore applications
This work evaluates the behavior of microstructure in the GMAW of 2205 duplex steels welding for offshore applications. Welding is performed with two input energy levels, 1.5 kJ/mm and 2.5 kJ/mm.

Modeling of Thermel Transport for GMAW
Investigation of temperature distribution of submerged arc welded plates is essential while designing submerged arc welding joint because the key parameter for the change of weld bead geometry dimension, thermal stress, residual stress, tensile stress, hardness, and so forth is heat input, and heat input is the function of temperature distribution of ...

Study of welding productivity for MIL A 46100steel weldments produced using GMAW and SMAW
A study was conducted to measure welding productivity for MIL A46100 specification steel joints welded following five different welding procedures (WPS) which used gas metal arc welding (GMAW), in mechanized mode, and shielded metal arc welding (SMAW ...

Improving the GMAW process through current control
A control strategy for the electrical current in GMAW processes is proposed. The control is in closed-loop, designed by formal methods, based on a mathematical model of the electrical behavior of the GMAW process, and implemented in C+ language in a microcontroller.

Introduction. Increasing the productivity of single-wire surfacing through raising the wire feed rate causes defects — undercuts and poor fusion between layers, which reduces the quality of the deposited coating and increases the reject rate.

Evaluation of Melting Efficiency in Cold Wire Gas Metal Arc Welding Using 1020 Steel as Substrate
A key welding parameter to quantify in the welding process is the ratio of the heat required to melt the weld metal versus the total energy delivered to the weld, and this is referred to as the melting efficiency.
