Effect of plasma welding current on heat source penetration ability of plasma-GMAW hybrid welding
The weld penetration under different plasma welding currents was compared in the plasma-gas metal arc welding (GMAW) hybrid welding of aluminum alloy. When the plasma welding current was lower than 150 A, the hybrid welding penetration was greater than ...

Corrosion Behavior of Additively Manufactured Steels: A Comprehensive Review
This review explores the corrosion behavior of various steel types, including austenitic, martensitic, duplex, low‐alloy, and maraging steels, produced via additive manufacturing (AM). It discusses how AM impacts material properties, such as grain structure and the formation of defects like porosity, and highlights the importance of optimizing process ...

Abstract The welding process introduces heat, which may cause softening in the heat‐affected zone (HAZ) of high‐strength steels (HSS). In welded components such as hollow section joints, this localised reduction in strength can reduce the load‐bearing capacity by promoting early failure of the joint and decreasing plastic design strength.

Fatigue behaviour of GMAW welded aluminium alloy AA7020 [PDF]
[EN] The aim of this investigation is to evaluate the influence on fatigue behaviour of the finishing of the bulge in a welded aluminium zinc magnesium alloy AA7020. It was determined that total or partial elimination of the bulge has very little influence on its behaviour, giving a very similar result on both cases, where one is better than the other ...
