Essential lipid autacoids rewire mitochondrial energy efficiency in metabolic dysfunction‐associated fatty liver disease

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
Increased liver content of DHA‐derived small lipid autacoids (i.e resolvin D1 and maresin 1) associates with enhanced mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation, fatty acid β‐oxidation and bioenergetic metabolic flux. These features provide hepatic protection from steatotic, pro‐inflammatory and fibrogenic insults.

Natural history of liver disease in a large international cohort of children with Alagille syndrome: Results from the GALA study

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
Natural history of liver disease in a large international cohort of children with Alagille syndrome: Results from the GALA study. Abstract Background and Aims Alagille syndrome (ALGS) is a multisystem disorder, characterized by cholestasis. Existing outcome data are largely derived from tertiary centers, and real‐world data are lacking.

Documenting numerical experiments in support of the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 6 (CMIP6) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Numerical simulation, and in particular simulation of the earth system, relies on contributions from diverse communities, from those who develop models to those involved in devising, executing, and analysing numerical experiments. Often these people work

Dithered GMD Transform Coding [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The geometric mean decomposition (GMD) transform coder (TC) was recently introduced and was shown to achieve the optimal coding gain without bit loading under the high bit rate assumption.

Machine dependence and reproducibility for coupled climate simulations: the HadGEM3-GC3.1 CMIP Preindustrial simulation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
When the same weather or climate simulation is run on different high-performance computing (HPC) platforms, model outputs may not be identical for a given initial condition.

The effect of the top 20 Alzheimer disease risk genes on gray-matter density and FDG PET brain metabolism [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
INTRODUCTION: We analyzed the effects of the top 20 Alzheimer disease (AD) risk genes on gray-matter density (GMD) and metabolism. METHODS: We ran stepwise linear regression analysis using posterior cingulate hypometabolism and medial temporal GMD

GMD-Robots [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
The overall research goal of our RoboCup middle-size league team is to increase both, the controlled speed of mobile robots acting as a team in dynamic environments and the speed of the development process for robot control systems. Therefore, we started in 1998 to develop a proprietary fast robot platform and in parallel the development of an ...
