Evaluation‐Constrained Projections Reveal a Potentially Navigable Arctic by the 2030s

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 21, 16 November 2026.
Abstract The rapid decline in Arctic sea ice thickness (SIT) is reshaping Arctic navigation prospects. However, large uncertainties in climate model skill hinder robust projections of future navigability. Here we evaluate SIT simulated by the CMIP6 using satellite, airborne, reanalysis, and in situ data sets across freezing and melting seasons.

Negative Residual Topography in Global Back‐Arc Basins Scales With Slab Dip

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 21, 16 November 2026.
Abstract Dynamic topography above subduction zones is widely inferred, but its magnitude and controls remain poorly constrained at the global scale. Here, we estimate residual topography across a range of back‐arc basins by correcting bathymetry for sediment loading, crustal structure, and lithospheric age, and compare the anomalies with slab geometry ...

Multi‐Organ Inflammatory and Endocrine Crosstalk Shapes the Early Brain Response to Combined Burn and Blast Injury

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 21, 15 November 2026.
Concomitant burn injury and blast‐induced mild TBI lead to a magnified neuroimmune response shaped by endocrine stress‐related pathways and IL‐1R1‐dependent inflammatory signals, which also produce cytokine‐mediated impairment of erythropoiesis. These integrated systemic and CNS responses illustrate how inflammation, hematopoietic adaptation, and early

Combined Effects of Thermal Cycling Aging and Reinforcement Content on the Ball‐On‐Disk Wear of Additively Manufactured Polylactic Acid Composites

open access: yesPolymer Composites, Volume 47, Issue 21, Page 19085-19107, 10 November 2026.
Thermal Aging and Tribological Tests of Additive Manufactured PLA Composites. ABSTRACT This study focuses on the additive manufacturing of pure polylactic acid (PLA) specimens and milled glass fiber (GF)‐filled PLA composites under thermal cycling aging and wear tests. Wear tracks have been analyzed via 3D optical profiling and SEM imaging.

Additive Manufacturing of Glass Fiber‐Reinforced Polypropylene and Its Behavior Under Controlled Hydrogen Exposure

open access: yesPolymer Composites, Volume 47, Issue 21, Page 19563-19577, 10 November 2026.
Experimental and numerical assessment of GFRPP under lower experimental hydrogen pressures using tensile testing, SEM analysis, and hydrogen uptake estimation. ABSTRACT Glass fiber‐reinforced polypropylene (GFRPP) composites are increasingly explored for hydrogen transport and storage due to their lightweight nature and corrosion resistance.
