Laparoscopic ultrasound eXAmination: Analysis of fellow surgeons learning curve in minimally invasive gynecologic procedures (LUXA study)

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, Volume 175, Issue 2, Page 969-976, November 2026.
Abstract Objective Laparoscopic ultrasound (LUS), performed with an endoscopic ultrasound probe, has shown potential in addressing challenges related to haptic perception and lesion detection in minimally invasive surgery. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the learning curve of gynecologic surgery fellows in achieving competency in LUS image

Dose‐Related Gastric Toxicity of Diethyl Phthalate in Female Wistar Rats

open access: yesJournal of Applied Toxicology, Volume 46, Issue 11, Page 4242-4254, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Diethyl phthalate (DEP) is commonly used in cosmetics, personal care products, and pharmaceutical formulations as a low‐molecular‐weight phthalate. Despite its widespread use, information on its effects on the gastric mucosa remains limited. This study examined the dose‐related effects of DEP on inflammation, oxidative stress, gastric mucosal ...

An Ascorbic‐Acid Containing Poly(Carbonate) Urethane With Antioxidant Bioactivity for Application in Heart Valve Scaffold Development

open access: yesJournal of Biomedical Materials Research Part A, Volume 114, Issue 11, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Prosthetic heart valve development consists of several branching, innovative strategies to mediate the complex native environment that wears down valve durability. Anti‐calcification treatments are being applied to pericardial tissue, durable polymers are being developed that mitigate oxidative degradation and stress cracking, and heart valve ...

Redefining CHI3L1: Therapeutic Opportunities at the Crossroads of Immune Suppression and Disease Progression

open access: yesMedicinal Research Reviews, Volume 46, Issue 6, Page 1897-1921, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Chitinase‐3‐like‐1 (CHI3L1, also known as YKL‐40) has been recognized as a biomarker of inflammation and tissue remodeling and has now emerged as a pseudoenzymatic immune checkpoint. Recent structural, immunological, and translational studies redefine it as an active regulator of immune suppression rather than a passive disease marker. Despite

Investigation of a Polyamide 6 (PA6) and Polybutylene Succinate (PBS) Blend as Candidate Matrix for Self‐Healing Application

open access: yesPolymer Engineering &Science, Volume 66, Issue 11, Page 8610-8623, November 2026.
This illustration shows polyamide 6 (PA6) blended with 20–50% polybutylene succinate (PBS) by volume. The balance between tensile properties, fracture toughness and self‐healing capability is achieved in the 30% vol PBS blend. Thermal healing at 140°C results in 40% fracture toughness recovery in a blend containing 30% vol PBS.
