GnRH antagonists in IVF

open access: yesReproductive BioMedicine Online, 2005
The present review summarizes existing knowledge on the use of gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH) antagonists based on experience gathered after the completion of phase III comparative trials with GnRH agonists. Available data suggest that prolongation of the follicular phase significantly decreases the probability of pregnancy.

GnRH receptor activation competes at a low level with growth signaling in stably transfected human breast cell lines [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Breakthrough Breast CancerBackground: Gonadotrophin releasing hormone (GnRH) analogs lower estrogen levels in pre-menopausal breast cancer patients. GnRH receptor (GnRH-R) activation also directly inhibits the growth of certain cells.

Impact of GnRH analogues on oocyte/embryo quality and embryo development in in vitro fertilization/intracytoplasmic sperm injection cycles: a case control study

open access: yesReproductive Biology and Endocrinology, 2009
Background Despite the clinical outcomes of ovarian stimulation with either GnRH-agonist or GnRH-antagonist analogues for in vitro fertilization (IVF) being well analysed, the effect of analogues on oocyte/embryo quality and embryo development is still ...
