Goal types in agent programming
Proceedings of the fifth international joint conference on Autonomous agents and multiagent systems, 2006This paper discusses three types of declarative goals and motivates their integration in logic-based agent-oriented programming languages. These goal types are perform goals, achieve goals, and maintain goals. A goal type is considered as a specific agent attitude towards goals.

A goal programming network for linear programming
Biological Cybernetics, 1991Tank and Hopfield have shown that networks of analog neurons can be used to solve linear programming (LP) problems. We have re-examined their approach and found that their network model frequently computes solutions that are only suboptimal or that violate the LP problem's constraints.

Goal Programming and the Goals-Achievement Matrix

An Iterative Approach to Goal Programming
Operational Research Quarterly (1970-1977), 1977An iterative approach is developed for solving general goal programming problems. This approach is then used to solve several nonlinear examples, including an integer solution problem. A dual for linear goal programming problems is developed and sensitivity analysis is discussed.
