Using Stochastic Goal Programming in Updating the Input-Output Table with Application to Egypt [PDF]

open access: yesThe Egyptian Statistical Journal, 2002
The I/O Table illustrates the interaction relations between the economic sectors of the economy. This paper develops a new approach depending on stochastic programming in order to update I/O Table when the final demand is random variable.

A Multicriteria Goal Programming Model for Ranking Universities

open access: yesMathematics, 2021
This paper proposes the use of a goal programming model for the objective ranking of universities. This methodology has been successfully used in other areas to analyze the performance of firms by focusing on two opposite approaches: (a) one favouring ...

['HYBRID METHODOLOGY OF NONLINEAR GOAL PROGRAMMING']

open access: yesActa Economica, 2003
What we demonstrate here is a nonlinear goal-programming (NLCP) algorithm based on original hybrid connection of the modified simplex method of goal programming, gradient method of feasible directions and method of optimal displacement size finding ...

A Bayesian Approach for Determining the Probabilistic Priority Structure in Goal Programming [PDF]

open access: yesThe Egyptian Statistical Journal, 1991
This paper deal with a goal programming (GP) model with no preassigned deterministic rankings for the goals. The priority ranking in this case depends on the state of nature, assumed to be a random variable.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Goals as reward-producing programs

open access: yesNature Machine Intelligence
People are remarkably capable of generating their own goals, beginning with child's play and continuing into adulthood. Despite considerable empirical and computational work on goals and goal-oriented behavior, models are still far from capturing the richness of everyday human goals.

Goals in conflict: semantic foundations of goals in agent programming [PDF]

open access: yesAutonomous Agents and Multi-Agent Systems, 2008
This paper addresses the notion of (declarative) goals as used in agent programming. Goals describe desirable states, and semantics of these goals in an agent programming context can be defined in various ways. We focus in this paper on the representation of conflicting goals.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Lexicographic Goal Programming Model for Bank’s Performance Management

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2021
Any bank’s financial management is essential to preparing the assets and liabilities for multiple goals. In this paper, we develop an optimal bank model for the financial management department in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
