Effects of communication goals and expectancies on language abstraction. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Language abstraction is an important aspect of the description of behavioral events (G.R. Semin & K. Fiedler, 1988) that is typically viewed as a medium by which describers transmit beliefs without conscious awareness or control.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Financing the Millennium Development Goals for health and beyond: sustaining the 'Big Push'. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Many of the Millennium Development Goals are not being achieved in the world's poorest countries, yet only five years remain until the target date. The financing of these Goals is not merely insufficient; current evidence indicates that the temporary ...

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

A Review of Research on the Stability of Fine-Grained Sediments in Debris Flows

open access: yesGeosciences
Fine-grained sediments in debris flows refer to Quaternary sediments with grain sizes smaller than 2 mm. Their stability is closely related to the initial water threshold that triggers the debris flows and thus controls the density, scale, and damage of ...

A new denoising method for photon-counting LiDAR data with different surface types and observation conditions

open access: yesInternational Journal of Digital Earth, 2023
Spaceborne photon-counting LiDAR is significantly affected by noise, and existing denoising algorithms cannot be universally adapted to different surface types and topographies under all observation conditions.

Social Goals

open access: yes, 2019
The history of social goals began decades ago in the psychological literature. Over time, several different goal paradigms emerged building from drive theory, goal approach, and self-determination theory. This chapter discusses the historical origins and

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Global annual wetland dataset at 30 m with a fine classification system from 2000 to 2022

open access: yesScientific Data
Wetlands play a key role in maintaining ecological balance and climate regulation. However, due to the complex and variable spectral characteristics of wetlands, there are no publicly available global 30-meter time-series wetland dynamic datasets at ...
