Dual liquid crystalline/gel behavior with AIE effect promoted by self-assembly of pyrazole dendrons [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
This work describes the rich self-assembly behavior obtained by grafting a pyrazole-derived platform at the focal point of poly(benzyl ether) dendrons.

Microscopic Insights into Magnetic Warping and Time‐Reversal Symmetry Breaking in Topological Surface States of Rare‐Earth‐Doped Bi2Te3

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetic doping of the topological insulator Bi2Te3 with erbium adatoms induces out‐of‐plane magnetism and breaks time‐reversal symmetry, opening a Dirac gap and driving a Fermi surface transition from hexagonal to star‐of‐David geometry. Microscopy, spectroscopy, and magnetic dichroism reveal atomically controlled magnetic interactions that tailor the

π‐Enlargement in Porphyrin Macrocycles at Interfaces

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
On‐surface synthesis of a 20‐π free‐base expanded porphyrin, by depositing onto a hot Ag(111) substrate an 18‐π free‐base precursor equipped with ‐CF3 functional groups ABSTRACT Porphyrins are essential heteroatomic macrocycles, fundamental to both biological systems and advanced technology.

Self‐Cooling Molecular Spin Qudits

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A material made of [GdEr] molecular dimers can encode a qudit and perform as a magnetic refrigerant. Microwave resonant pulses coherently manipulate its 16 spin states, while direct demagnetization measurements cool the material and a device down to temperatures below 1 K.

Nanographene‐Based van der Waals Organic Framework With Permanent Porosity

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Unlocking record‐breaking porosity in a supramolecular organic framework (SOF). Through the strategic design of a C3‐symmetric nanographene, a robust supramolecular framework is achieved via exclusively weak van der Waals forces. This metal‐free scaffold reaches a benchmark BET surface area of 1108 m2 g−1 –the highest to date for this class–combining ...

Scale Urban Agriculture in Havana and the Reproduction of the ‘New Man’ in Contemporary Cuba

open access: yesEuropean Review of Latin American and Caribbean Studies, 2003
Drawing on ethnographic data collected in the  city of Havana, from 1999 to 2001, this paper  interrogates the purported rise in ‘individualistic’  and ‘capitalistic’ practices in post-Soviet Bloc Cuba.

Flexoelectrically Induced Polar Topology in Twisted SrTiO3 Membranes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Twisted SrTiO3 bilayers host polar vortices of flexoelectric origin, revealed through combined experiment and theory. By reconstructing polarization from the toroidal moment of strain gradients, the work establishes a 3D chiral state with broken inversion and mirror symmetries.

Análisis del proceso de descentralización en Bogotá: un enfoque desde la teoría secuencial

open access: yes, 2018
151 páginasThis work makes an extrapolation of the sequential theory of decentralization of Tulia Falleti to the decentralization process of Bogotá, which had been mainly applied to the study of cases of decentralization in countries of Latín American ...
