Analysis of Dental Gold Alloys
Complete chemical analyses of about 40 dental gold alloys were made as part of the investigation of their physical properties. These analyses required the determination of silver, gold, platinum, palladium, iridium, rhodium, copper, zinc, nickel, tin, manganese, iron, and magnesium.

The electrochemical corrosion behaviour of quaternary gold alloys when exposed to 3.5% NaCl solution [PDF]
Lower carat gold alloys, specifically 9 carat gold alloys, containing less than 40 % gold, and alloying additions of silver, copper and zinc, are commonly used in many jewellery applications, to offset high costs and poor mechanical properties associated

Gold and Gold Alloy foams [PDF]
The possibilities to manufacture gold-based foams are explored. Gold powder and various powdered alloying elements are mixed with a small volume fraction of a gas-releasing blowing agent. The blend is compacted to a dense precursor, which is then melted in a further step in order to trigger foam formation.

A facile chemical screening method for the detection of stress corrosion cracking in 9 carat gold alloys [PDF]
Stress corrosion cracking (SCC) is a well known form of environmental attack in low carat gold jewellery. It is desirable to have a quick, easy and cost effective way to detect SCC in alloys and prevent them from being used and later failing in their ...

Electrochemical Characterization of a Commercial Au-Ag-Cu Alloy in an Acidic Medium
The voltammograms obtained by the cyclic voltammetry method show potentials at which current waves occur successively corresponding to the number and the quantity of the phases present in the alloy, which can be used for characterisation of the ...
