Gold and Gold Alloy foams [PDF]
The possibilities to manufacture gold-based foams are explored. Gold powder and various powdered alloying elements are mixed with a small volume fraction of a gas-releasing blowing agent. The blend is compacted to a dense precursor, which is then melted in a further step in order to trigger foam formation.

Skin contact with gold and gold alloys [PDF]
3 types of reaction to gold merit discussion. First, there is the effect known us black dermographism, in which stroking with certain metals immediately produces well‐defined black lines on the skin. Some gold alloys art amongst such metals. The evidence indicates that the effect is the result of impregnation of the skin with black metallic particles ...

A numerical grading system has been established for white gold alloys using the ASTM Yellowness Index D1925, an existing colour quality standard. The Index is calculated from the CIE (International Commission of Illumination) Tri-stimulus values, X, Y and Z, and the scale is linear, so that as the number decreases, the alloy becomes whiter.

Electrochemical Characterization of a Commercial Au-Ag-Cu Alloy in an Acidic Medium
The voltammograms obtained by the cyclic voltammetry method show potentials at which current waves occur successively corresponding to the number and the quantity of the phases present in the alloy, which can be used for characterisation of the ...

Thermal diffusivity measurement of gold alloys and superconducting ceramics using photoacoustic technique [PDF]
Thermal diffusivity of gold alloys and superconducting ceramics was measured using photoacoustic techniques. All the measurements were carried out at room temperature. Thermal diffusivity of gold alloys was found to be a function of alloy composition. It

Mechanical Spectroscopy Of Ordered Binary Au-Cu
We have studied a binary Au-Cu single crystal by mechanical spectroscopy. Upon very slow cooling from high temperatures, additional relaxation peaks arise at lower frequencies in isothermal spectra after the disappearing of the Zener peak below 665 K due

CsCl-type compounds in binary alloys of rare-earth metals with gold and silver [PDF]
In binary alloys of silver with Sm, Tb, Ho, and Tm, and of gold with Y, Pr, Nd, Sm, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, and Tm, intermediate phases containing stoichiometric proportions of the two metals were found to crystallize into the CsCl (B2)-type structure.
