Light in Gold Catalysis

Chemical Reviews, 2021
Within the wide family of gold-catalyzed reactions, gold photocatalysis intrinsically features unique elementary steps. When gold catalysis meets photocatalysis, a valence change of the gold center can easily be achieved via electron transfer and radical addition, avoiding the use of stoichiometric sacrificial external oxidants.

Dinuclear gold catalysis

Chemical Society Reviews, 2021
This review summarizes the recent achievements of dinuclear gold-catalyzed redox coupling, asymmetric catalysis and photocatalysis. The dinuclear gold catalysts show a better catalytic performance than the mononuclear gold catalysts in certain cases.

Gold catalysis in total synthesis

Chemical Society Reviews, 2008
In this tutorial review directed towards chemists interested in synthesis or catalysis, the application of gold catalysis in total synthesis is summarised and the mode of activation of the substrate by the gold catalyst is discussed.

Heterocycles from gold catalysis

Chemical Communications, 2011
The article reviews the most important developments in the synthesis of heterocycles by gold catalysts for reactions directly involving the heteroatoms in the reacting groups. Reactions without direct participation of the hetero atoms, for example in substrates with the heteroatom in a tether between the reacting groups, are not included.

Dual Gold Catalysis

Accounts of Chemical Research, 2014
For more than a decade the innovative field of homogeneous catalysis by gold was dominated by the interaction of the substrate molecule with one gold center, in most cases in mononuclear gold complexes. The initial interaction was typically a π-coordination of a carbon-carbon double bond to the gold, an activation of the unsaturated substrate molecule ...
