Heterocycles from gold catalysis
Chemical Communications, 2011The article reviews the most important developments in the synthesis of heterocycles by gold catalysts for reactions directly involving the heteroatoms in the reacting groups. Reactions without direct participation of the hetero atoms, for example in substrates with the heteroatom in a tether between the reacting groups, are not included.

The Promotional Effect of Gold in Catalysis by Palladium-Gold
Science, 2005Acetoxylation of ethylene to vinyl acetate (VA) was used to investigate the mechanism of the promotional effect of gold (Au) in a palladium (Pd)-Au alloy catalyst. The enhanced rates of VA formation for low Pd coverages relative to high Pd coverages on Au single-crystal surfaces demonstrate that the critical reaction site for VA synthesis consists of ...

Heterogeneous Catalysis by Gold
2012Abstract Gold can be deposited as nanoparticles (NPs) with diameters of 2–5 nm and clusters with diameters less than 2 nm on a variety of materials such as oxides, carbides, and sulfides of transition metals, carbons, and organic polymers. Such supported gold NPs and clusters exhibit surprisingly high catalytic activities for many reactions, with ...
