Acid Resistant and Highly Silver Selective Membranes Based on Charged Nanoporous 2D‐Materials

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
In this work, new membranes based on charged & nanoporous nanosheets with unprecedented selectivity to silver versus a wide range of other metallic ions are reported. Furthermore, a demonstrated and lead specific intralamellar lead pathway is demonstrated. A potential applicability for ubiquitous silver in WEEE is validated.

Faith, gender and financial investment: Providence and Presbyterianism in Scotland and abroad

open access: yesAsia‐Pacific Economic History Review, EarlyView.
Abstract Mid‐nineteenth century fictional representations of misdirected investment by widows and clergy position them as ignorant in financial matters and hence pitiable. While scholars have recognised female agency in nineteenth century commerce, insufficient attention has been paid to religious belief in financial decision‐making.

Phased combined development of gold ore deposits

open access: yesSustainable Development of Mountain Territories
Introduction. It is noted that in the Russian gold mining industry, the profitability of gold production is associated with the development of technologies for leaching it from substandard ores and enrichment waste. It is shown that the priority aspect of the development of substandard raw materials is to increase the yield of more gold with acceptable

Quality from Kent: Preliminary results from the analysis of fifth‐ to seventh‐century silver alloys

open access: yesArchaeometry, EarlyView.
Abstract This paper explores early results from the chemical and lead isotope analysis of 30 silver‐alloy objects from southeast England dating between the fifth and seventh centuries CE, presenting limited aspects of the three main analyses that were conducted. First, a comparison of the results gained from surface x‐ray fluorescence (pXRF) values and
