Chloride–hypochlorite leaching and hydrochloric acid washing in multi-stages for extraction of gold from a refractory concentrate

Hydrometallurgy, 2014
Abstract In this research, chloride–hypochlorite leaching of gold from a highly refractory pyritic concentrate was conducted and effects of stirring speed, temperature and particle size on the leaching rate were investigated. Results showed that the particle size had a significant positive effect on the gold recovery.

An adaptive vector quantizer based on the Gold-Washing method for image compression

IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology, 1994
The VLSI architecture for an adaptive vector quantizer is presented. The adaptive vector quantization method does not require a-priori knowledge of the source statistics and the pre-trained codebook. The codebook is generated on the fly and is constantly updated to capture local textual features of data.

The Gold-Washing algorithm (II): optimality for φ-mixing sources

Proceedings of 1995 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory, 2002
Two versions of tire Gold-Washing data compression algorithm, one with codebook innovation interval and the other with finitely many codebook innovations, are considered. The corresponding optimality results are proved for stationary, /spl phi/-mixing sources.

Optimization of flushing sluice flow in hydrohoist gold washing machines

Journal of Mining Science, 2012
The lab and commercial tests have validated basic parameters of flow at locks of high capacity sluice box with riffles. The found relations between the Darcy coefficient, Reynolds numbers and Froude numbers allow obtaining balanced design and technology parameters for industrial sluice boxes of the type of PGSH-II-50.

Green Gold or Green Wash: Environmental Consequences of Biofuels in the Developing World*

Review of Agricultural Economics, 2008
Previous articles in this session have addressed the market and food security consequences of the current rapid expansion in demand for liquid biofuels. This article explores the potential consequences for the environment in developing countries. By far, the most important impacts arise from the increase in prices of major agricultural commodities and ...

A hardware-oriented gold-washing adaptive vector quantizer and its VLSI architectures for image data compression

IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology, 2000
The gold-washing (GW) mechanism is an efficient on-line codebook refining technique for adaptive vector quantization (AVQ). However, the mechanism is essentially not suitable for hardware implementation. We propose a hardware-oriented GW-AVQ scheme based on the least-recently-used (LRU) strategy for codevector selection and the block-data-interpolation
