What Do Latest CMIP6 Global Climate Models Say About Future Arctic Sea Ice Coverage Changes?

open access: yesInternational Journal of Climatology, EarlyView.
Modelling of sea ice dynamics has significantly improved between CMIP5 and CMIP6, with nearly three times as many models capturing realistic annual variability in sea ice extent (SIE). What we previously thought was a non‐linear pattern of low SIE observations in 2007–2010 that would continue throughout time now appears to be non‐record‐setting lows in

Applications and Sexual Version of a Simple Model for Biological Ageing

open access: yes, 2001
We use a simple model for biological ageing to study the mortality of the population, obtaining a good agreement with the Gompertz law. We also simulate the same model on a square lattice, considering different strategies of parental care.

Extending the hyper‐logistic model to the random setting: New theoretical results with real‐world applications

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, EarlyView.
We develop a full randomization of the classical hyper‐logistic growth model by obtaining closed‐form expressions for relevant quantities of interest, such as the first probability density function of its solution, the time until a given fixed population is reached, and the population at the inflection point.

The Log-Expo Inverse Gompertz Distribution: properties and Estimations [PDF]

open access: yesMaǧallaẗ Al-Buḥūṯ Al-Mālīyyaẗ wa Al-Tiğāriyyaẗ
This paper introduces the Log-Expo Inverse Gompertz Distribution (LET-IG) three-parameter distribution and examines some of its mathematical properties. The study derives the density distribution, reliability function, and hazard rate function.

On Order Restricted Inference in Multi‐Step Stage Life Testing for a General Family of Distributions

open access: yesNaval Research Logistics (NRL), EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Recently, k$$ k $$‐step stage life testing (SLT) has been proposed by Laumen and Cramer (2021) as a natural extension of progressive censoring with fixed censoring times (PC‐FCT) as well as of simple step‐stress accelerated life testing (SSALT).

Impact of histone H4 lysine 20 methylation on 53BP1 responses to chromosomal double strand breaks. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Recruitment of 53BP1 to chromatin flanking double strand breaks (DSBs) requires γH2AX/MDC1/RNF8-dependent ubiquitination of chromatin and interaction of 53BP1 with histone H4 methylated on lysine 20 (H4K20me). Several histone methyltransferases have been

parfm : Parametric Frailty Models in R

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Software, 2012
Frailty models are getting more and more popular to account for overdispersion and/or clustering in survival data. When the form of the baseline hazard is somehow known in advance, the parametric estimation approach can be used advantageously ...

Quantifying Dual‐Color Photopolymerization in Xolography via Raman Spectroscopy

open access: yesJournal of Polymer Science, EarlyView.
A dual‐wavelength Raman spectroscopy workflow is presented for the quantitative assessment of dual‐color photoinitiators. Contrast and efficiency parameters are extracted from in situ curing curves and spatial Raman mapping is used to find inhomogeneities in printed objects.

On Bivariate Exponentiated Extended Weibull Family of Distributions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
In this paper, we introduce a new class of bivariate distributions called the bivariate exponentiated extended Weibull distributions. The model introduced here is of Marshall-Olkin type.
