Endocrine‐Nutritional Synergy Between Sex Inversion and Microencapsulated Bioactives Enhances Growth, Intestinal Development, and Oxidative Stability in Nile Tilapia Larvae

open access: yesJournal of Animal Physiology and Animal Nutrition, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study evaluated the combined effects of sex inversion and microencapsulated supplementation with organic acids and essential oils on growth performance, tissue morphology, gene expression, and oxidative status in Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) larvae.

Multidimensional characterisation of phenotypic traits in three slow-growing native chicken breeds

open access: yesItalian Journal of Animal Science
To support the recent consumers’ growing demand for local, alternative, and sustainable products, this study focused on the comprehensive characterisation of three slow-growing chickens from Piedmont (northwest Italy): Bionda Piemontese (BP), Bianca di ...

Properties of Gompertz data revealed with non-Gompertz integrable difference equation

open access: yesCogent Mathematics & Statistics, 2019
AbstractBehaviour of the upper limit estimated by an unsuitable model (the logistic curve model) was mathematically analysed for data on an exact solution of the Gompertz curve model with integrabl...

Unmanned aerial vehicle–based spatiotemporal phenotyping and growth modeling for forecasting potato yield

open access: yesThe Plant Phenome Journal, Volume 9, Issue 1, December 2026.
Abstract Monitoring spatial variations in plant growth and forecasting yield before harvest provides valuable insights for optimizing agronomic decision‐making in potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) cultivation. Although unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)‐based remote sensing has recently enabled the development of tuber fresh weight (TW) estimation models, their

Multi‐Metric Monitoring: Comparing Occupancy and Abundance Based Metric Sensitivity for Detecting Threatened Species Responses to Environmental Change

open access: yesGlobal Change Biology Communications, Volume 1, Issue 2, June 2026.
Abundance and occupancy provide complementary but non‐equivalent signals of threatened species change. Here, their relationship was nonlinear and responses to environmental change were context dependent, showing that no single metric captures all population responses and that combining both can better inform conservation action under global change ...

New Modified Gompertz Probability Distribution With Flexible Hazard Functions

open access: yesJournal of Probability and Statistics
This paper introduces a new probability model called the modified Gompertz distribution from the base Gompertz distribution by combining its hazard function with first and second degree polynomial (linear and quadratic) functions.

A Novel Gompertz-Type Distribution with Applications to Radiological Dose and Pharmacokinetic Data

open access: yesMathematics
This study introduces a novel four-parameter lifetime distribution constructed within the Topp–Leone Power Gompertz framework. Owing to its flexible structure, the proposed model accommodates a wide range of density shapes and hazard-rate patterns ...

Population modeling of tumor growth curves and the reduced Gompertz model improve prediction of the age of experimental tumors.

open access: yesPLoS Computational Biology, 2020
Tumor growth curves are classically modeled by means of ordinary differential equations. In analyzing the Gompertz model several studies have reported a striking correlation between the two parameters of the model, which could be used to reduce the ...

Synergistic Effects of IMP‐1700, Ciprofloxacin, and X‐Ray Radiation in Bacteria and Mammalian Cell Lines: Implications for Use in Antimicrobial‐Resistant Bacteria

open access: yesMicrobiologyOpen, Volume 15, Issue 3, June 2026.
IMP‐1700 enhances the cytotoxic effect on bacteria in combination with either ciprofloxacin (CPX) or X‐ray. In noncancerous and tumor cells, combination treatments markedly reduce viability with radiosensitizing effects. Further studies are needed to clarify the mechanism underlying IMP‐1700s effects on mammalian cells. Created in BioRender. Kjaer, A. (

Platform competition and strategic trade‐offs for complementors: Heterogeneous reactions to the entry of a new platform

open access: yesStrategic Management Journal, Volume 47, Issue 6, Page 1671-1729, June 2026.
Abstract Research Summary We study how the entry of a rival platform affects the strategies of the incumbent's complementors. The latter face a trade‐off: While the entry threatens their benefits from indirect network effects, it also allows them to escape intense within‐platform competition.
