On weighted exponential-Gompertz distribution: properties and application

open access: yesJournal of Taibah University for Science, 2019
In this paper, we introduce a new distribution generated by an integral transform of the probability density function of the weighted exponential distribution. This distribution is called the weighted exponential-Gompertz (WE-G). Its hazard rate function

Gender convergence in human survival and the postponement of death [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
It has been a long accepted demographic maxim that females outlive males. Using data for England and Wales, we show that life expectancy at age 30 is converging and continuation of this long-term trend suggests it could reach parity in 2030.

On the time dependence of the $h$-index

open access: yes, 2012
The time dependence of the $h$-index is analyzed by considering the average behaviour of $h$ as a function of the academic age $A_A$ for about 1400 Italian physicists, with career lengths spanning from 3 to 46 years.

Nivolumab plus ipilimumab versus lenvatinib or sorafenib as first‐line treatment for unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma: A cost‐effectiveness analysis

open access: yesCancer, Volume 132, Issue 3, 1 February 2026.
Abstract Background Nivolumab plus ipilimumab has shown survival benefits as first‐line treatment for unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) but their high cost raises concerns about value. This study assessed the cost‐effectiveness of nivolumab plus ipilimumab compared with lenvatinib or sorafenib from a United States (US) health care payer ...

Longitudinal Analysis of Manually and Automatically Classified Circulating Tumor Biomarkers and their Prediction of Survival in Metastatic Colorectal Cancer

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, Volume 119, Issue 2, Page 403-413, February 2026.
Circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and tumor‐derived extracellular vesicles (tdEVs) are promising biomarkers for predicting survival and informing treatment decisions in metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC); yet their clinical application remains limited. In this study, we analyzed CellSearch image archives from 446 patients with mCRC treated in the CAIRO2 ...

Fuzzy Bayesian Inference for Gompertz Distribution

open access: yesIndian Journal of Science and Technology, 2016
Objectives: Fuzzy Bayesian approach is implemented to enrich the probability updating process with fuzzy facts. Methods: In this paper, different methods of estimation are discussed for the parameters of Gompertz distribution when the available data are in the form of fuzzy numbers.

Population Physiologically‐Based Pharmacokinetic Modeling to Determine Ontogeny: A Quantitative Clinical Pharmacology Example in Pediatric Rare Disease

open access: yesCPT: Pharmacometrics &Systems Pharmacology, Volume 15, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Pediatric physiologically‐based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) modelling plays an increasing role in selecting doses in children and addressing clinical pharmacology questions. Ethical concerns often limit clinical pharmacology studies that have no direct therapeutic benefit in children, highlighting the value of PBPK model predictions.

Body Mass Records of Zoo‐Managed Rhinoceros (Ceratotherium simum, Diceros bicornis, Rhinoceros unicornis) as Compared to Field Data of Free‐Ranging Specimens

open access: yesZoo Biology, Volume 45, Issue 1, Page 74-83, January/February 2026.
Female white rhinos in zoos systematically exceed the body mass range for free‐ranging specimens; this is not the case in black rhinos. ABSTRACT The body mass of zoo animals may differ from those in wild populations due to the different environmental and dietary conditions being offered under human‐managed care.
