The Preparation and Properties of Equine Pituitary Gonadotropin

A method is described for the alkaline extraction of equine pituitary glands which produced gonadotropic hormone, containing only traces of foreign protein but which was contaminated with posterior pituitary extract. Equine pituitary gonadotropin was found to possess a lower potency than that of serum gonadotropin.
