Flavonoid Profile of the Cotton Plant, Gossypium hirsutum: A Review [PDF]
Cotton, Gossypium hirsutum L., is a plant fibre of significant economic importance, with seeds providing an additional source of protein in human and animal nutrition. Flavonoids play a vital role in maintaining plant health and function and much research has investigated the role of flavonoids in plant defence and plant vigour and the influence these ...

ABSTRACT Biotic stresses, particularly Verticillium wilt (VW), lead to a global decline in cotton yields. Here, we demonstrate that ectopic expression of ScALDH21, a gene from the desiccation‐tolerant moss Syntrichia caninervis Mitt. and absent in angiosperms, enhances cotton's resistance to VW.

Genome-wide evolution and function analysis of ALOG gene family in cotton
BackgroundThe ALOG (Arabidopsis thaliana LSH1 and Oryza sativa G1) gene family is a class of transcription factors present in various plants. To elucidate the roles of ALOG genes in cotton, we systematically investigated the ALOG gene family across four ...

ABSTRACT Mitochondria serve as cellular powerhouses that generate ATP via electron transport chain complexes and orchestrate metabolism‐apoptosis cross‐talk, yet genes maintaining mitochondrial homeostasis remain underexplored as antifungal targets. In this study, a previously uncharacterised protein VdAtuA3 was identified as a novel interactor with ...

Identification and characterization of the GhHsp20 gene family in Gossypium hirsutum [PDF]
AbstractIn higher plants, Heat Shock Protein 20 (Hsp20) plays crucial roles in growth, development and responses to abiotic stresses. In this study, 94 GhHsp20 genes were identified in G. hirsutum, and these genes were phylogenetically clustered into 14 subfamilies.

MYB Factors: Hubs of Plant Stress and Hormone Crosstalk
ABSTRACT MYB transcription factors function as main regulatory hubs that integrate environmental signals with multi‐hormonal pathways to synchronize plant growth, metabolism and stress responses. This review delineates the regulatory roles of MYB in the signalling pathway of salicylic acid, jasmonic acid, ethylene and abscisic acid signalling.
