The TPR‐LYTACs nanomaterial offers a dual‐pathway strategy for precise gouty arthritis treatment by targeting and degrading the ROS‐producing enzyme NOX2 inside macrophages while its antioxidant core clears accumulated ROS outside. This “source inhibition and microenvironment scavenging” approach, guided by NIR‐II imaging, effectively controls local ...

Cartilage injury promotes local fibrinogen deposition, which accelerates monosodium urate crystallization and activates integrin‐mediated matrix‐degradation. This self‐amplifying cycle drives gout‐related cartilage erosion. Disrupting fibrinogen deposition or restoring the cartilage barrier could interrupt this vicious cycle.

A previously unrecognized IRE1‐XBP1s‐Slc6a4 signaling axis links endoplasmic reticulum stress to serotonin metabolism, autophagy, and inflammatory osteoclastogenesis. By promoting intracellular serotonin uptake and reducing endogenous 3‐methyladenine accumulation, this pathway accelerates inflammatory bone destruction and provides a promising ...

Tissue incision induces CXCL5 release, which activates neuronal CXCR2 on incision‐innervating sensory neurons. Neuronal CXCR2 couples with TRPA1 to drive mechanical pain and engages p38 MAPK signaling to upregulate TRPV1 and promote heat pain. Targeted Cxcr2 knockdown relieves incisional pain while preserving CXCR2‐dependent neutrophil responses ...

Infected nasal gout tophus: A case report
Gout is a common form of inflammatory arthritis, characterized by the deposition of monosodium urate crystals. If chronically present and not adequately treated by serum urate reducers, gout tophi can develop at various locations.

Platelet membrane‐coated layered double hydroxide nanoparticles were engineered to target inflamed endothelium at early‐stage atherosclerosis and enhance therapeutic efficacy. The biomimetic platform improves stability, immune escape, and inflamed vascular cell targeting, resulting in reduced oxidative stress and downregulated adhesion molecules.

Some historical remarks on microcrystalline arthritis (gout and chondrocalcinosis)
The history of microcrystalline arthritis only began in 1961 when Daniel McCarty and Joseph Lee Hollander demonstrated the presence of sodium monourate crystals in the synovial fluid of gouty patients. However, gout is a historical disease, thanks to the

Association of Clonal Hematopoiesis With Incident, Late‐Onset, Seropositive Rheumatoid Arthritis
Objective Clonal hematopoiesis (CH), defined by acquired driver mutations in hematopoietic stem cells, is associated with many inflammatory diseases of aging. We investigated whether CH and its subtypes, CH of indeterminate potential (CHIP) and mosaic chromosomal alteration (mCA), are associated with incident rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and whether ...
