GPL-GENKEN programming languageメーカ、あるいはユーザによって開発される計算機のソフトウェアは年ごとに巨大化の方向をたどり、これに対して有効なソフトウェア記述言語の必要性が痛感されるようになった。これらのソフトウェアを機械語で書いたのでは、書かれたソフトウェアは新しい計算機では使えず、かといってFORTRAN、ALGOL、PL/Iなどの問題向き言語では、ハードウェアとリフトウェアの能力を十分に生かせず、また作られたソフトウェアが冗長となる。ソフトウェア記述言語の開発は、国の内外を問わずまだ模索の段階であるが、今回われわれの作成したソフトウェア記述言語GPLは、ユーザが維持するこの種の言語としては、一定の水準に達しているといって良いであろう。コンパイラの第1版は、FORTRAN-IVで書かれており、その長さはソース ...
