Seasonal Variability of Precipitating Systems in Four Radar Domains of Northeast Brazil

open access: yesInternational Journal of Climatology, EarlyView.
This study analyzes the climatology and evaluates how the physical aspects of precipitating systems are influenced by the dry and wet seasons in Northeast Brazil, highlighting seasonal variations in the frequency, size, intensity, and duration of these systems in the regions of Natal, Maceió, Petrolina, and Salvador.

Applicability analysis of GPM-IMERG daily precipitation data in Inner Mongolia

open access: yes暴雨灾害, 2020
The applicability of GPM-IMERG daily precipitation data is analysed by comparing daily precipitation data of GPM-IMERG and 119 meteorological stations in Inner Mongolia from 2015 to 2017, in order to provide scientific basis for the application of GPM ...

Unraveling the Gluon Sivers Function in Hadronic Collisions at RHIC

open access: yes, 2018
We study the transverse single-spin asymmetries for $p^\uparrow p\to \pi\, X$ and $p^\uparrow p\to \gamma\, X$ within the so-called color gauge invariant generalized parton model (CGI-GPM) which, in addition to spin and transverse momentum effects ...

Screened Coulomb interactions in metallic alloys: II Screening beyond the single-site and atomic sphere approximations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
A quantitative description of the configurational part of the total energy of metallic alloys with substantial atomic size difference cannot be achieved in the atomic sphere approximation: It needs to be corrected at least for the multipole moment ...

Dry–Hot Compound Events Driving the 2024 Pantanal Wildfires

open access: yesInternational Journal of Climatology, EarlyView.
Extreme wildfires in the Pantanal in 2024 were driven by a cascade of heatwaves, rainfall deficits and the absence of the annual flood pulse. These conditions dried soils and rivers, enhanced fuel accumulation and enabled early and intense fire outbreaks.

Large Proportions of Surface Ozone and Premature Mortality Due to a Stratospheric Intrusion Event in North China

open access: yesInternational Journal of Climatology, EarlyView.
This study, by examining a typical stratospheric intrusion event that occurred in North China from 30 to 31 July 2021, found that the event led to a sharp increase in near‐surface ozone concentrations by 23 ppbv within 36 h, accounting for 40% of the total observed ozone levels, with localised peaks exceeding 30 ppbv.
