Network pharmacology analysis reveals neuroprotection of Gynostemma pentaphyllum (Thunb.) Makino in Alzheimer’ disease

open access: yesBMC Complementary Medicine and Therapies, 2022
Background Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is one of the most common neurodegenerative disorders in the world, but still lack of effective drug treatment. Gynostemma Pentaphyllum (Thunb.) Makino (GpM), a Chinese medicinal herb, plays important roles in anti ...

Lagrangian analysis of two flavours of Central European heatwaves: Formation under omega blocking versus initiation by subtropical ridges

open access: yesQuarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, EarlyView.
We investigate whether Central European heatwaves (HWs) forming under omega blocking differ from those enabled by subtropical ridges, in terms of both air‐mass origin and processes warming air parcels along their way. Using ERA5‐based backward trajectories and a Lagrangian temperature anomaly decomposition, we identify significant differences in the ...

Evaluasi Data Hujan Berbasis Satelit untuk Menentukan Debit Aliran Masuk Waduk Selorejo Menggunakan Model HBV-96

open access: yesJurnal Sumber Daya Air
Effective reservoir management can be supported by applying rainfall-runoff hydrological models. However, one of the main challenges of such models lies in the availability of reliable rainfall data.

The relationship between equatorial wave interaction and heavy rainfall in Southeast Asia

open access: yesQuarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, EarlyView.
This study examines the statistical relationship between co‐occurring equatorial waves and heavy rainfall in Southeast Asia. Heavy rainfall is more closely related to combined wave activity than to individual waves in many regions of Southeast Asia. The figure shows GPM–IMERG rainfall (shading) and ERA5 850‐hPa winds (vectors) composited on days when ...

Recurving tropical cyclones in the western North Pacific are stronger than non‐recurving ones: Causes and implications

open access: yesQuarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, EarlyView.
This study investigates the statistical characteristics of recurving tropical cyclones (TCs) over the western North Pacific (WNP). We find that recurving TCs are, on average, 38% stronger than non‐recurving TCs, owing to longer ocean exposure, fewer landfalls, and passage through warmer, more favorable thermal environments.

From Green Strategy to Sustainable Development: Corporate Efforts Toward SDG 12 and SDG 13

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Firms are increasingly integrating United Nations Development Goals 12 (Responsible consumption and production) and 13 (Climate action) as a part of their sustainability strategies. However, prior research has rarely examined how these SDGs interact as a unified capability rather than as isolated practices.

The GPM Validation Network and Evaluation of Satellite-Based Retrievals of the Rain Drop Size Distribution

open access: yesAtmosphere, 2020
A unique capability of the Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) mission is its ability to better estimate the raindrop size distribution (DSD) on a global scale.

Advancing Green Human Resource Management Aspects and Practices in Organizations: The Power of Fuzzy Importance Performance Analysis

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Drawing on intersections between the Ability–Motivation–Opportunity (AMO) framework and the Resource‐Based View of the Firm (RBV‐F), this research critiques key convergent and divergent theoretical aspects of Green HRM. This approach led to the formulation and implementation of a Fuzzy Importance–Performance Analysis (FIPA) method to evaluate ...

A Study on Characteristics of Mesoscale Convective Systems in East China Based on GPM Data

open access: yesGaoyuan qixiang
Based on GPM data from March 2014 to July 2023, the spatial and temporal distribution characteristic of mesoscale convective systems (MCSs) and sub-mesoscale convective systems (sub-MCSs) in East China are studied. Then the macro and micro structure ...

The Strategic Logic of Biodiversity: Why Firms Invest in Nature‐Based Initiatives

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Biodiversity loss poses profound strategic and operational challenges for firms, yet management research offers limited evidence on which organisational mechanisms effectively reduce corporate biodiversity impacts. This study introduces the Biodiversity Strategy Configuration Framework (BSCF) to enhance the understanding of firm‐level ...
