Quantification of the variation in percentage identity for protein sequence alignments

open access: yesBMC Bioinformatics, 2006
Background Percentage Identity (PID) is frequently quoted in discussion of sequence alignments since it appears simple and easy to understand. However, although there are several different ways to calculate percentage identity and each may yield a ...

SMAD4 Palmitoylation Drives a Metabolic‐Transcriptional Circuit to Promote Tumorigenesis and Confers Radiosensitivity in Pancreatic Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies palmitoylation as a novel regulatory modification of SMAD4, mediated by ZDHHC22/APT2. It activates fatty acid synthesis, creating a self‐reinforcing SMAD4–FASN–palmitate feedback loop that drives pancreatic cancer growth and enhances radiotherapy sensitivity.

A GPS térhódításának elemzése [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Szakdolgozatom írásánál a fejezetcímekkel kialakított és tükrözött logikai sorrendet igyekeztem követni. Először egy rövid történeti áttekintéssel érzékeltettem, hogy bármennyire is napjaink vívmányának gondoljuk a GPS technikát, gyökerei időben mégis ...

Self‐Assisted Charge Storage‐Release Mechanism Enabling Flexible Design of Biomimetic Triboelectric Nanogenerators

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Inspired by the mimosa, this study develops a flexible triboelectric nanogenerator with a novel microneedle array and battery‐mimetic architecture. The device introduces a spontaneous charge self‐regulation mechanism that confines the electric field below the air breakdown threshold, and achieves an outstanding charge density of 396.50 µC m−2 ...

Association between patients’ recommendation of their GP and their evaluation of the GP [PDF]

open access: yesScandinavian Journal of Primary Health Care, 2008
Patient priorities and patient evaluations indicate that accessibility should receive more attention to increase quality in general practice. The definition of family medicine emphasizes the patient-centred approach, communication skills, continuity, and clinical skills.

ZDHHC18‐Mediated Palmitoylation of ORF3a Promotes SARS‐CoV‐2 Pathogenesis by Antagonizing TRIM16‐Mediated Ubiquitination and Proteasomal Degradation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Palmitoylation by ZDHHC18 blocks ORF3a K27‐linked ubiquitination mediated by TRIM16, thereby preventing its proteasomal degradation and strengthening viral pathogenesis. Targeting palmitoylation through a pharmacological inhibitor (2‐BP), a competitive inhibitory peptide (OPIP), or adenovirus‐mediated knockdown of ZDHHC18 expression presents a ...
