GPSR

Proceedings of the 6th annual international conference on Mobile computing and networking, 2000
We present Greedy Perimeter Stateless Routing (GPSR), a novel routing protocol for wireless datagram networks that uses the positions of routers and a packet's destination to make packet forwarding decisions. GPSR makes greedy forwarding decisions using only information about a router's immediate neighbors in the network topology. When a packet reaches

An Improved GPSR Routing Protocol

International Journal of Advancements in Computing Technology, 2011
The rapid movement of Vehicles which results in frequent changes in vehicle position and speed, as well as inaccuracies in predicting driver’s direction at intersections usually lead to wrong packet forwarding decisions in VANET. Consequently, a routing protocol incorporating vehicle density, moving direction and speed into GPSR in making packet ...

Improved GPSR Protocol and Performance Evaluation

2020 IEEE Eurasia Conference on IOT, Communication and Engineering (ECICE), 2020
This paper proposes an improved GRPS protocol based on the ant colony algorithm, OVGPSR. In this protocol, various factors are considered in the routing calculation, and the parameters such as vehicle speed, energy consumption, and deflection angle are introduced into the ant colony algorithm. The algorithm predicts vehicle intermediate nodes, improves

Improved GPSR in Inter-vehicle Communication

2010 International Conference on Communications and Mobile Computing, 2010
After analyzing GPSR under traffic scenarios, we find its poor performance dues to extremely uneven distribution of vehicles. Considering the characteristics of the traffic scenario, we propose Improved GPSR using an electronic map. The simulation results show that Improved GPSR performs better than GPSR on Packet Delivery Ratio.

Improved GPSR Routing Protocol in VANETs

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013
According to characteristics that the vehicles move fast and topology changes quickly in Vehicular Ad hoc Networks (VANETs), a novel routing protocol GMGP based on the location is proposed for VANETs. Predicting the changes of the neighboring nodes positions and using greedy forwarding mechanism forward packet, and using a movement perimeter forwarding

Customizing GPSR for wireless sensor networks

2004 IEEE International Conference on Mobile Ad-hoc and Sensor Systems (IEEE Cat. No.04EX975), 2005
Several problems are required to be fixed in order to apply the geographical routing protocol greedy perimeter stateless routing (GPSR) in wireless sensor networks. First, GPSR is designed under the assumption of symmetric links (i.e., bidirectional reachability) which is not realistic for many practical sensor networks.

Route Optimization for GPSR in VANET

2009 IEEE International Advance Computing Conference, 2009
In this paper, we try to proposal a new mechanism for optimizing the route of the Greedy parts of GPSR. By studying the GPSR, we find that the Greedy part of GPSR is not always to find the most optimized route, especially in the denser scenario. So according to this problem, we try to propose a mechanism to find an optimized route.
