An In Vivo Mouse Model for Chronic Inflammation-Induced Immune Suppression: A "Factory" for Myeloid-Derived Suppressor Cells (MDSCs). [PDF]

open access: yesCurr Protoc, 2022
Abstract Myeloid‐derived suppressor cells (MDSCs) represent a heterogeneous population of immature myeloid cells known to play a role in perpetuating a wide range of pathologies, such as chronic infections, autoimmune diseases, and cancer. MDSCs were first identified in mice by the markers CD11b+Gr1+, and later, based on their morphology, they were ...

Platelet Hyaluronan Synthase 3 Regulates Thrombin Signaling and Adhesion to Fibrinogen Under Venous Shear. [PDF]

open access: yesProteoglycan Res
ABSTRACT Hyaluronan (HA) is an essential glycosaminoglycan with supportive roles in hematopoiesis. HA is synthesized by hyaluronan synthases (HAS1, HAS2, and HAS3) and plays a crucial role in cellular signaling and extracellular matrix interactions.

Suppression of multiple anti-apoptotic BCL2 family proteins recapitulates the effects of JAK2 inhibitors in JAK2V617F driven myeloproliferative neoplasms. [PDF]

open access: yesCancer Sci, 2022
We demonstrate that manipulating the intrinsic apoptotic pathway may be an alternative strategy to treat MPN induced by JAK2V617F. Disrupting the BCL2 balance is not sufficient to treat MPN at the stem cell level, but it is certainly an option for controlling the myeloid expansion that leads to clinical complications dependent on increased cell counts ...

Nano-Enabled Reposition of Proton Pump Inhibitors for TLR Inhibition: Toward A New Targeted Nanotherapy for Acute Lung Injury. [PDF]

open access: yesAdv Sci (Weinh), 2022
A new concept of “nano‐enabled drug repurposing” is proposed based on understanding the nanoparticle‐immune system interactions to empower the existing drugs for new uses. Herein, the proton pump inhibitors are identified to share similar mechanisms of action to bioactive gold nanoparticles with undiscovered Toll‐like receptor inhibitory and anti ...

Modified Spatially Confined Strategy Enabled Mild Growth Kinetics for Facile Growth Management of Atomically‐Thin Tungsten Disulfides

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 10, Issue 3, January 25, 2023., 2023
A modified spatially confined strategy create slow rising of S:W to maintain a mild growth kinetics of WS2, leading to the facile regulation of selective lateral/vertical growth. Referring to SW‐T diagram, the growth routes for 2D WS2 are facilely designed, leading to the versatile growth control of atomically thin WS2 on domain size, layer number, and

DCAF13 Safeguards Hematopoietic Stem Cells via RRS1-Regulated Ribosome Biogenesis. [PDF]

open access: yesAdv Sci (Weinh)
This study establishes DCAF13 as an essential regulator for hematopoietic stem cell (HSC) function. Its deletion in mice causes lethal pancytopenia and HSC depletion. Mechanistically, DCAF13 interacts with RRS1 and mediates its non‐degradative K27‐linked ubiquitination, thereby stabilizing RRS1 to maintain ribosome biogenesis and protein translation ...

A novel wearable free‐wideband antenna circularly polarized suited for biotelemetric devices with multiple‐input multiple‐output and high data rate capacity

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, Volume 2022, Issue 6, Page 595-607, June 2022., 2022
Abstract A small circularly polarized multiple‐input multiple‐output (MIMO) antenna is demonstrated here as a biometric gadget for consumers. In this article, the authors introduce a structure for antennas that consists of four essential parts that are orthogonally arranged opposite each other.

Charge‐Assisted Engineering of Color Centers in Diamond

open access: yesphysica status solidi (a), Volume 218, Issue 5, March 2021., 2021
The recently developed method of charge‐assisted single defect engineering is reviewed. Applying this method to color centers in diamond enables a strong enhancement of their creation while hindering formation of competing and perturbing defects. Furthermore, improved charge state stability and coherence times are obtained.
