Strigolactone and Auxin Applications on Cotyledon Senescence in Sunflower Seedlings under Salt Stress

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Biology, 2022
Objective: Senescence is a programmed cell death process and is important in the growth, development and flowering process of the plant. Delaying senescence has a very important effect on agriculture in terms of product yield. Indole-3- acetic acid (IAA)

Strigolactones modulate stem length and diameter of cherry rootstocks through interaction with other hormone signaling pathways

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2023
Stem growth and development has considerable effects on plant architecture and yield performance. Strigolactones (SLs) modulate shoot branching and root architecture in plants.

Effect of strigolactone on growth, photosynthetic efficiency, antioxidant activity, and osmolytes accumulation in different maize (Zea mays L.) hybrids grown under drought stress

open access: yesPlant Signaling & Behavior, 2023
Drought alters plant physiology, morphology, and biochemical pathways, necessitating effective mitigation strategies. Strigolactones (SLs) are phytohormones known to enhance plant growth under abiotic stress.

Drought Stress Mediated Changes in Food Crops: Mechanisms and Remediation Strategies

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work presents a multi‐scale framework for flavonoid‐mediated drought tolerance in staple food crops, integrating ROS redox regulation, antioxidant defense, rhizosphere microbial interactions, and sustainable agronomic practices. This interdisciplinary model provides core insights to develop climate‐resilient cropping systems and enhance global ...

Strigolactone signaling: Licensing antiviral RNA interference in rice

open access: yesNew Plant Protection, EarlyView.
Rice grassy stunt virus (RGSV) suppresses strigolactone‐mediated antiviral RNAi through P3‐D14 interaction. Structure‐guided D14D102N editing disrupts P3 binding while maintaining SL signaling, sustaining antiviral defense and providing strong resistance without compromising plant growth or yield.

Soil‐dependent variation in strigolactone signaling distance revealed by a parasitic seed germination bioassay

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
A parasitic seed germination bioassay reveals strong soil‐dependent variation in strigolactone signaling distance, controlled by physical and biological soil properties, which shapes signaling range and parasitic weed infection risk. Abstract BACKGROUND Strigolactones are root‐exuded plant metabolites acting as germination stimulants for several ...
