Calibration and Characterisation of GRACE-FO Magnetometers
Magnetic field data from satellite missions play a significant role in characterizing and understanding space weather conditions. Satellite magnetic field observations from different altitudes and local times are necessary to disentangle the complex processes contributing to each observation of Earth’s magnetic field and study the various ...Michaelis, I. ; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-9741-4063 +5 more

COST-G: release of GRACE-FO RL02 combination
2023The Combination Service for Time-Variable Gravity Fields (COST-G) is providing monthly gravity fields of the dedicated gravity missions GRACE and GRACE-FO, which are combined from the individual time-series of the COST-G associated and partner analysis centers (ACs).

Comparative analysis and interpretation of grace and grace-fo data
Informatization and communication, 2020The study is devoted to the analysis of the features of the change in the Equivalent Water Height (EWH) parameter over the geoid based on satellite measurements of space systems. The study used the GRACE and GRACE-FO satellite data archive. The assessment was carried out on Earth as a whole, including land areas and the World Ocean.

Reprocessing of KBR1B data on GRACE-FO and its advantages
2022
The K-Band Ranging system (KBR) is the key payload to measure the inter-satellite distance variations with the accuracy of sub-micrometers in GRACE and its successor GRACE-FO missions.

GRACE/GRACE-FO to constrain regional to global Evapotranspiration
2020
A frontier in hydrology lies in understanding the potential impacts of a warming planet on water cycle variability from regional to global scales. The fluxes that constitute the terrestrial water cycle present various complexity in observability, with Evapotranspiration (ET) being generally the most challenging variable ...

Spatio-temporal Wiener filtering of GRACE/-FO solutions
Monthly estimates of the Earth’s gravity field based on the GRACE/-FO missions have enabled decisive progress in the quantification and understanding of mass transfers in the Earth system. However, raw level 2 GRACE/-FO solutions are affected by large errors in the form of North-South stripes.Paul Rebischung +4 more

GRACE and GRACE-FO constraints on 3D GIA models
Glacial isostatic adjustment is the response of the solid Earth to past ice sheets. It is the largest secular gravity increase in GRACE and GRACE-FO data. Models of GIA are used to correct GRACE observations for ice mass and sea level change, but in areas where GIA is the main signal GRACE data can be used to constrain GIA models.Wouter van der Wal +4 more

GRACE and GRACE-FO Mascons for Studying Ocean Dynamics
We have developed a specialized set of CSR mascons for ocean dynamics studies. The standard GRACE/GRACE-FO mascons over the ocean represent ocean bottom pressure. Thus, they have contributions from the average atmospheric pressure change over the ocean, the barystatic (global mean) mass change and the geographically variable ...Mark E.
