Replacing GRACE/GRACE‐FO C30 With Satellite Laser Ranging: Impacts on Antarctic Ice Sheet Mass Change

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, 2020
Satellite laser ranging (SLR) observations have long been relied upon for measuring changes in Earth's dynamic oblateness, C20. This major component of Earth's time‐variable gravity field is not well observed by the Gravity Recovery and Climate ...

Copper‐based Materials for Photo and Electrocatalytic Process: Advancing Renewable Energy and Environmental Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Cu‐based catalysts as a cornerstone in advancing sustainable energy technologies are fully reviewed in this manuscript, highlighting their potential in photo‐ and electrocatalysis. It includes metallic copper, copper oxides, copper sulfides, copper halide perovskites, copper‐based metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), and covalent organic frameworks (COFs),

Mapping probabilities of extreme continental water storage changes from space gravimetry

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, 2016
Using data from the Gravity Recovery And Climate Experiment (GRACE) mission, we derive statistically robust “hot spot” regions of high probability of peak anomalous—i.e., with respect to the seasonal cycle—water storage (of up to 0.7 m one‐in‐five‐year ...

The Use of National CORS Networks for Determining Temporal Mass Variations within the Earth’s System and for Improving GRACE/GRACE-FO Solutions

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2020
Temporal mass variations within the Earth’s system can be detected on a regional/global scale using GRACE (Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment) and GRACE Follow-On (GRACE-FO) satellite missions’ data, while GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System ...

Remote Sensing of Terrestrial Water Storage with GRACE and Future Gravimetry Missions [PDF]

open access: yes
The Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE) has demonstrated that satellite gravimetry can be a valuable tool for regional to global water cycle observation. Studies of ice sheet and glacier mass losses, ocean bottom pressure and circulation, and

Retroreflector for GRACE follow-on: Vertex vs point of minimal coupling

open access: yesOptics Express, 2014
The GRACE Follow-On mission will monitor fluctuations in Earth's geoid using, for the first time, a Laser Ranging Interferometer to measure intersatellite distance changes. We have investigated the coupling between spacecraft rotation and the intersatellite range measurement that is incurred due to manufacturing and assembly tolerances of the Triple ...

MnI‐Functionalized Covalent Organic Framework as Efficient Electrocatalyst for CO2 Reduction in a Catholyte‐Free Zero‐Gap Electrolyzer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates the successful integration of a phenanthroline‐based 2D COF with MnI catalytic sites into a catholyte‐free membrane‐electrode‐assembly cell for CO2 electroreduction. The crystalline COF actively suppresses Mn⁰–Mn⁰ dimerization, achieving a turnover frequency of 617 h⁻¹ at 2.8 V (full‐cell potential), and enabling stable operation.

Revisiting GRACE Follow-On KBR Antenna Phase Center Calibration by Addressing Multipath Noise

open access: yesRemote Sensing
The Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment Follow-On (GRFO) mission precisely measures the inter-satellite range between the centers of mass of its twin satellites to map the earth’s gravity field.

Enhancing CoFe Catalysts with V2CTX MXene‐Derived Materials for Anion Exchange Membrane Electrolyzers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
MXene dervied CoFe composites show increased initial Oxygen Evolution Reaction (OER) activity compared to the pure CoFe and MXene in an Anion Exchange Membrane device. Vanadium vacancies in the MXene plays a role in increased OER activity and hinders Fe leaching in the AEM device over using the pure V2C MXene as a support material for the CoFe ...

GRACE and GRACE Follow‐On Gravity Observations of Intermediate‐Depth Earthquakes Contrasted With Those of Shallow Events

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth
Earthquakes involve mass redistribution within the solid Earth and the ocean, and as a result, perturb the Earth's gravitational field. For most of the shallow ( 8.0, the GRACE satellite gravity measurements suggest considerable volumetric disturbance of
