On intuitionistic gradation of openness

Fuzzy Sets and Systems, 2002
In Chang's fuzzy topology, the fuzzy subsets are either open or not open. In contrast to this, the gradation of openness is a concept in which the notion of being open is fuzzy, hence a set can be open to some extent. The intuitionistic gradation of openness (IGO) is an ordered pair of a gradation of openness and its dual gradation of nonopenness. Some

Gradation of supra-openness

Fuzzy Sets and Systems, 2000
A gradation of supra-openness on a set \(X\) is a mapping \({\mathcal T}: [0,1]^X\to [0,1]\) such that \({\mathcal T}(0_X)={\mathcal T}(1_X)=1\) and \({\mathcal T} (\bigvee_{i\in {\mathcal I}}U_i) \geq\bigwedge_{i\in {\mathcal I}}{\mathcal T}(U_i)\) for each family \(\{U_i\mid i\in{\mathcal I}\} \subset [0,1]^X\) (cf. the definition of \([0, 1]\)-fuzzy

Consonant gradation

2022
Abstract Consonant gradation, or the alternation of certain “strong-grade” consonants or consonant clusters with their “weak-grade” counterparts, is a peculiar morphophonological phenomenon occurring in the north-western (Saami and Finnic) and north-eastern (Nganasan) peripheries of Uralic; whether these two have common roots in Proto ...

GRADATIONAL ACCURACY AND NONCLASSICAL SEMANTICS

The Review of Symbolic Logic, 2012
AbstractThis paper gives a generalization of Jim Joyce’s 1998 argument for probabilism, dropping his background assumption that logic and semantics are classical. Given a wide variety of nonclassical truth-value assignments, Joyce-style arguments go through, allowing us to identify in each case a class of “nonclassically coherent” belief states.

The Gradation of Objectivation

2001
The insights that we have gained into the structure of judgments are important in many respects. They are insights into the internal onstruction, into the structure of judgments as ready-made formations of determinative action, and insights into the a priori genesis according to which every ideal possible continued construction of judgments and ...
