Tailoring nonlinear frequency generation in graded-index multimode fibers
We demonstrate that frequency generation in multimode graded-index fibers can be tailored through appropriate fiber design. This is achieved by exploiting a geometric parametric instability which can be utilized for developing novel fiber light sources.

Wavelength dependence of spliced graded-index multimode fibers
Applied Optics, 1979Profile dispersion affects the bandwidth of graded-index multimode fibers. In this paper, two graded-index multimode fibers of nearly 2-km length, of different index profile, and the combined fiber obtained by splicing them are examined by the swept-frequency method. It was confirmed that the spliced fiber also has a wavelength-dependent characteristic,

Transmission characteristics of splices in graded-index multimode fibers
Applied Optics, 1981Losses and baseband bandwidth changes caused by a splice in a graded-index multimode fiber have been studied theoretically. Splices are classified into three categories, and their influence on mode conversion coefficients and baseband frequency response has been investigated. Transmission characteristics for splices in cascade are also investigated.

All-fiber mode-group-selective photonic lantern using graded-index multimode fibers [PDF]
We demonstrate the first all-fiber mode-group-selective photonic lantern using multimode graded-index fibers. Mode selectivity for mode groups LP01, LP11 and LP21 + LP02 is 20-dB, 10-dB and 7-dB respectively.
