Unidirectional transmission of electrons in a magnetic field gradient [PDF]

open access: yesPhysica E: Low-dimensional Systems and Nanostructures, 2004
The work presents an experimental demonstration of time-reversal asymmetry of electron states propagating along boundary separating areas with opposite magnetic fields. For this purpose we have fabricated a hybrid ferromagnet-semiconductor device in form of a Hall cross with two ferromagnets deposited on top.

SU(3) Spin–Orbit Coupled Rotating Bose–Einstein Condensate Subject to a Gradient Magnetic Field

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics, 2021
We consider a harmonically trapped rotating spin-1 Bose–Einstein condensate with SU(3) spin–orbit coupling subject to a gradient magnetic field. The effects of SU(3) spin–orbit coupling, rotation, and gradient magnetic field on the ground-state structure

Manipulation of skyrmion motion by magnetic field gradients [PDF]

open access: yesNature Communications, 2018
AbstractMagnetic skyrmions are particle-like, topologically protected magnetisation entities that are promising candidates as information carriers in racetrack memory. The transport of skyrmions in a shift-register-like fashion is crucial for their embodiment in practical devices.

Magnetic Field Gradients and Their Uses in the Study of the Earth's Magnetic Field.

open access: yesJournal of geomagnetism and geoelectricity, 1991
Magnetic field gradients are discussed from the standpoint of their usefulness in modeling crustal magnetizations. The fact that gradients enhance shorter wavelength features helps reduce both the core signal and the signal from external fields in comparison with the crustal signal.
